University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) was established in the year 1917 by Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya.  Currently affiliated with Bangalore University, the College offers six engineering courses: Electronics and communication, electrical and electronics, mechanics, computer science, information sciences, and civil engineering.

Residential Accommodation:

The College provides hostel facilities for boys and girls separately both in the Jnana Bharathi and City Campus. Library: 

The Library has an impressive collection of over 1.55 Lakhs Books (91,000 titles and 64,000 volumes) and journals covering various branches of engineering, general books and serves the needs of 5000 students, faculty and staff. Additionally, the library has a  volume of technical journals, thesis dissertations, rare books, project reports, CDs, and DVDs covering a wide variety of topics. The e-library has the ability to access electronic resources, e.g.IEEE Publishing (POP & CSDL) ASME, ASCE, and Springer users have access to full-text e-books covering all topics. The Library has a language lab and a virtual classroom for around 100 students who can use this facility at any time.
