It started with arts and commerce. The college got UGC recognition under 2f and 12b in February 1988. In the year 1991-92, Government College Mahoba is known as Virbhoomi Sarkar. College Mahoba, four lecture halls and administrative blocks were created with the help of the government from 1989 to 1990 and 1995-96, following a notification issued by the Governor of UP. Grant. Graduation in Science and P.G.in Commerce in 1996-97 and P.G. in Economics, Hindi and Political Science has been started from 2001-2002. Now the college has been named as Virbhumi Sarkar.

The college has Ryadnik or Holy Kalit Ma, in which there are about 42000 books related to various subjects and competitive examinations, which are all with GPS tagging, there is a complete facility for submitting and submitting books.
Sports:
Various sports-related activities take place throughout the year in the college and various sports teams are selected from the college and inter-college competitions are organized by the university. The team of best and deserving players selected from the college is sent to participate in the inter-college competition to be organized in other colleges.
Its mission is to carry forward the flame of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan and Women Empowerment through awareness programmes, education and spirit of self sacrifice. It also aims to uplift and help girls from the economically weaker section of society through education.
