Vinayaga Education College was founded in 2008 as a self-financing institution, located at Keelapaluvur, Karuppur-621707. The MACAM Educational and Rural Development Charitable Trust have promoted it with the sole aim of spreading sound knowledge to the student community of Ariyalur and the nation in general.
Vinayaga Education College a unit of Vinayaga Group of Educational Institutions run by MACAM Educational and Rural Development Charitable Educational Trust, offers programs of B.Ed., M.Ed degrees. It is a co-educational institution started in the year 2008 to make, efficient teachers for society. It has been approved by the NCTE in reference to FTN / ELE / SRO/NCTE 2005-2006 dated 04.03.2006. The course Diploma in Elementary Education was started in the year 2005-2006. Library. A big and spacious library is set up with more than 65000 valuable books of Art, Science, Psychology, Education, Religion, and General Knowledge, and periodicals like daily, weekly, fort rightly, and monthly are available to cater to the needs of the students, staff, and others.

VCE Infrastructure and Facilities
VCE Educational Technology Laboratory
This center has LCD and OHP projectors, slide projectors, and other equipment to aid the teaching-learning process. Student teachers make use of the center for instructional training.
VCE Psychology Laboratory
A Psychology Laboratory is maintained by the college in which experiments in Psychology are conducted as part of the B.Ed. practical curriculum. The Psychology Laboratory also serves the M.Ed.Students in selecting their tools for their research.
VCE Computer Laboratory
The college has an ICT Centre that can accommodate 30 students at a time. The center is maintained by a qualified staff, who also conducts theory and practical classes for the students. The Centre is available during and after class hours.
B.Ed. Students use Computer Laboratory for PowerPoint presentations and website evaluation. Computer-literate students and students with knowledge of computer applications assist beginners during their free time. Beginners in computers are given extra time after college hours. M.Ed students make use of the lab for data analysis.

Students use the laboratories during teaching practice. Initial preparation in the conduct of experiments and use of apparatus is practiced at the laboratories.
VCE Library
A qualified Librarian maintains the library. It is open to staff and students from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is also kept open on holidays during exam periods on request from students. The Open Access system is followed except for reference books. General books, Subject books, Encyclopedias, Theses, Reference books, Journals, Periodicals, and Newspapers (both Tamil and English) are made available to staff and students.
VCE College Hostels
The hostels for both boys and girls are functioning within the college campus with the objective of fostering fellowship among the hostellers and promoting personality traits related to the teaching profession. The mess provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. It is run on a dividing basis.
VCE Sports and Games
This college has playgrounds for Football, Cricket, and Hockey and courts for Tennis, Basket Ball, Hand Ball, Badminton, Shuttle Cock, etc. The Director of Physical Education is in charge of the sports and games activities.
The candidates should have undergone a 10+2+3(15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education/Examination and U.G. Degree examination of the UGC recognized Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/Higher Secondary Education level.
ii)Candidates who have passed the U.G. or P.G. degree in the Open University System without qualifying in 11 years SSLC examination and 1 year of Pre-University Course (P.U.C.) examination or 10+2 pattern of School Education examination shall not be considered for admission.
Candidates who have taken more than one main subject in Part III/Part IV (under Double/Triple Major System) of the U.G. degree course should have to choose only one of the main subjects and should have applied for that optional only. In such cases, marks obtained by the candidates in 2 or 3 major subjects shall be taken into account to arrive percentage of marks as stipulated in item (viii).
iv)Candidates who have passed the Additional Degree Programme with less than three years duration are not eligible for admission.
