With effect from 2001, it was included in the Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, which is at present known as Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University). The intake of B. Sc (N) students was increased from 50 to 100 during the academic year 2002-2003. M.Sc (N) was also started during the year 2002-2003, with an intake of 24 students per annum in 5 Specialties (Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing).
