The Vinayaka Mission’s College of Pharmacy (VMCP), Salem, established in the year 1982 is the pioneer institution of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. It plays a vital role in the field of Pharmacy education and caters to the needs of society by meeting the ever-increasing demand for pharmacists in India and abroad.

The college that started with the Diploma in Pharmacy program now also offers B.Pharm (from 1993), M.Pharm (from 2003) in 7 specializations, Pharm.D, Pharm.D (PB) (from 2009) and the Doctoral Program in Pharmacy (from 2004). The college is a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Deemed to be University, Salem and is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Several hundreds of students have graduated from the college successfully and are practicing the profession of Pharmacy across the globe and serving the community at large.

Residential Accommodations:

Hostel accommodation is available for both boys and girls for 200 students. The hostel is located in a serene place conducive to learning. Well-ventilated rooms furnished with a cot, table and chair, a common TV room, phone facilities and recreation facilities are available for the students. A common mess is provided for boys and girls in the hostel premises. Delectable vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served under the supervision of a qualified dietician.

A full-fledged library working from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm with more than 1239 titles and 5568 volumes of books. Approximately 200 volumes and 100 titles are added every year. A hard copy of 49 national and 12 international journals and 106 national and international E-journals are subscribed.

The research facilities at VMCP are equipped for each of the academic areas of specialization. There are such specialized facilities as a suite for analytical research, new molecules development, new compounds isolation from natural sources and the screening of the compounds.The college is well-equipped with research facilities like animal activity, in vitro screening, bio analytical and bio synthetic sections. The center is working on various screening technology both in vivo and in vitro.

In addition, research instrument facilities, if not available on campus, are available at other institutions in Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation DU through clinical and academic affiliations.

A well designed computer lab with internet and Wi-fi facilities are available in the campus. Free internet facility and other modern communication technologies are provided to students and staff members.
