Vivekananda College of Pharmacy, established in 1983 by the Janatha Education Society (JES), is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, and is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India. VCP started its journey as an institute offering only Pharmacy degrees. Today, it has grown by leaps and bounds to become a renowned institution that also offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in pharmacy. With students from all over the country and alumni from all over the world in positions of responsibility, VCP is recognized today for its commitment to providing quality pharmacy education that also instills a sense of social responsibility in students.

Facilities and Infrastructure

To meet the academic needs of students and refresh their knowledge and skills through various sources and support learning-teaching-research-service activities, VCP has a complete library. This library is home to a huge collection of 7020 books including textbooks and reference books, 1415 titles, journals, 35 national journals, databases, 101 e-journals, e-books, 519 bound journals, magazines, newspapers, and CD-ROMs. and GATE question papers. In addition, there are facilities like UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, the National Program for Advanced Study in Technology, Open Access Institutional Repositories (Indian universities), Open Access e-Theatres, and Dissertations for the benefit of students and faculty.

Although the college operates in a traditional chalk-and-board environment, other teaching methods are also introduced so that students can get used to different learning tools. Discussions, guest lectures, and seminars are as much a part of teaching as traditional teacher presentations. Eminent people from pharmaceutical and other related fields are regularly invited to the university, with whom students and faculty get an opportunity to interact and expand their knowledge.

The library and computer lab have computers for internet access and computing. The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, which allows students to connect to the Internet anywhere on campus using a laptop. Pharmacy is a multifaceted field and interdisciplinary training is very necessary to succeed in today's competitive environment. Our college Placement Cell plays a vital role in influencing students’ future careers. Our placement cell keeps track of job openings and conducts campus recruiting interviews for final-year students, and also coordinates to provide internships for pre-final year students. The faculty of VCP plan ahead of time for all type of interviews and provide students with training on resume-writing, communication skills, and interview that are so vital to excel in interviews.
