V V College of Engineering is the brainchild of our beloved Chairman Shri. S. Vaikundarajan.This idea was in his mind for a long time but took shape only in the year 2010. It is situated in the southern part of the east coast of India. This college comes under the jurisdiction of Anna University, Chennai. The college has all the requisite infrastructure facilities as stipulated by AICTE and the Govt. of Tamil Nadu and it is on par with university standards. The college offers five Under Graduate and four Post Graduate programs. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities are available in the college suit the contemporary post-modern educational system.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

Widely acknowledged as one of the best libraries in the state, our library system comprises Kamarajar Memorial Library and six departmental libraries to support teaching, learning, research activities, and dissemination of information. The College Library, established in the year 2010, was functioning in the main building of the college till 2012. Recently, it has been named Kamarajar Memorial Library and shifted, to a spacious area of 50,500 sq. ft.

Transport:

The college offers sophisticated transport facilities at a radial distance of 75 km. Buses ply to three districts - Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari, to help the students reach college and home safely.

Hostel:

The hostel has been built with the high aim of providing comfortable and safe accommodation. The college has separate hostels for both boys and girls. Special care is taken to maintain hygienic conditions. The hostel offers enough space to learn and achieve a better position for each student. Students are constantly encouraged and guided in all activities to step forward into the elite world. The interactive sessions by the concerned staff members during hostel study hour inculcates learning strategies and make learning knowledgeable.

Sports:

The college’s sports complex covers an area of 9.15 acres in which students can play indoor and outdoor games. The grounds and fields are constructed in a beautiful and tranquil setting and are of high standards. Well-experienced and qualified instructors train the students in various sports and games and encourage our students to participate in various sports activities. The Management extends its fullest help for the scholars to actively take part in sports. The Physical Education Department toils to identify the extraordinary talents of the students and trains them to achieve nationally.

Lab: 

The College provides all modern equipment and instruments. They also provide well-qualified technical instructors to guide the students. The equipment is occasionally calibrated to avoid more errors.

Admission

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or it's equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The institution takes students based on TNEA, TANCET, and GATE. There is no entrance exam for admission to B.E whereas, for M.E, students must have a valid score in GATE or TANCET scores. Students with GATE scores will be given more preference. For admission to M.E, the candidates have to go directly to Anna University through online mode, as the college is affiliated with the university. Scholarship

The college provides ASV SUBBIAH MERIT scholarships worth 1 crore INR. The scholarship is availed for the students according to their merits scored in the entrance exam. Students who have cut-offs above 190 are given free tuition fees for the first year. And those with cut-offs above 180 and 170 have to pay INR 15,000 and INR 30,000 as their tuition fee. Candidates with merit marks and sports, quota can avail of the scholarships and get some excuse for their tuition fees. The backward-class students can further avail of an Educational loan from NBCFDC at a cheaper interest. There are other government scholarships as per various categories and eligibility for the students.

Placements

Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of our institution. The institute has provided the complete infrastructure for the effective functioning of the cell. The cell is sensitized to function all throughout the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programs.The college offers a 100% placement assurance, as many MNCs come to the college and take interviews with the students. There is a proper in-campus selection before completing the degree, as it is a great opportunity for students to avail themselves for the best.

There are facilities and placement training for the students from their first year. Many companies like HCL, American Megatrends, NFN Labs, Mahindra, Infosys, InfoTech, Accenture, Tata Communications, Zoho, and many more are recruiters.
