Women's Christian College was founded on July 19, 1945, by a group of Christian educators dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of women. Ms. Stella Bose was the founding director and Ms. Nirajbasini Shome was the founding secretary of the college. It is located in its own buildings at 6, 4, and 2 Greek Church Row, Kolkata 700 026, and is administered by the Women's Christian College Trust. The college, which has an autonomous governing body and is accredited by the University Grants Commission in New Delhi, is affiliated with the University of Calcutta for three-year honors and three-year general studies with an elective credit system.

Computer Training Center:

This is a large classroom equipped with computers, printers, and smart TVs, providing theoretical and practical instruction for students taking the 3-year IT certification course, which is organized by the college in partnership with West Bengal Electronic Industry Development Corporation is organized. While the logistics of the course are taken care of by the institute, the certification is carried out by the WBEIDC, which is helpful for the participants. Students are introduced to various programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, etc. as well as multimedia aspects and an introduction to computer languages.

Auditorium:

The modern auditorium hall, which was created with a RUSA grant and is well equipped with smart whiteboards, projectors, a modern sound system, air conditioning, and comfortable seating, is an ideal place for important seminars, workshops, meetings, cultural programs and other important events in the surrounding area creates excellent conditions for creative pursuits. 

Library & Reading Room: 

The reading room is attached to the library. Located in Vidyasagar Kakshya in the Platinum The Jubilee Building has a modern, fun vibe that encourages students to browse through books and magazines.

Gymnasium:

The college has a state-of-the-art gym equipped with 3 treadmills, 2 exercise bikes, 2 cross trainers, 2 twisters, 1 exercise ball, 2 steppers, and 1 abdominal trainer. There is a physical education teacher who guides students in using the facility.
