The Younus College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) was started in the year 2002, by Fathima Memorial Educational Trust, at Manakkad, Vadakkevila, Kollam -10, 4km east of Kollam Railway Station and a walkable distance from Pallimukku junction on N.H.47. YCET is a Self-financing Engineering College in the private sector, recognized by Govt. of Kerala and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. YCET is affiliated with the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. We are committed to promoting and propagating quality and value-based education at par with international standards. The College is well set to bring out competent quality engineers. The College offers professional education in B.Tech & M.Tech courses with international standards. YCET Library & Resource Center:

The YCET Central Library & Resource Center, functioning as an information disseminating center catering to the needs of students, faculties, and staff of YCETcommunity, has a major role in paving the way for better academic excellence. The Central library spreads over an area of 806sq.mtr with a capacity of 120 persons and specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Engineering and Technology, Applied Science, Management, and Humanities. In the year 2022, the library has shifted to an advanced library management open-source platform KOHA 20.5 for library automation. The bibliographic records of books, journals, and other materials in the library can now be accessed globally through the web OPAC facility.

Computer Centres :

Seven Computer centers are been managed by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering function from 8 AM to 6 PM and function 6 days a week. The center has been equipped with all the Latest Intel Systems, Printers, Scanners, and the latest softwares. The center provides free Internet facilities for students as well as staff.

Hostel :

Separate well furnished for girls and boys with fascinating facilities conducive to their comfortable studies is available for the students. The men’s hostel is situated in the pallimukku junction itself. There are two girls' hostels situated very near to the college which serve warm accommodation and homely food.

Canteen:

The college offers a fully furnished canteen which is servicing inside the college campus. The canteen offers vegetarian as well as nonvegetarian dishes which taste homely.

Internship:

Internships offer students a hands-on opportunity to work in their desired field. They learn how their course of study applies to the real world and build a valuable experience that makes them stronger candidates for jobs after graduation. An internship can be an excellent way to “try out” a certain career. For instance, you may think you want a fast-paced job in advertising after college, but after an internship, you may find that it’s not for you; that’s valuable insight that will help you choose your career path. In academic aspects, internships also count towards course credit. Internships or training can also be done to gain activity points under KTU.
