The University of Mysore is among the foremost institutions of its kind and is an enduring symbol in the sphere of higher education in India. It was founded by the then Maharaja of Mysore, His Highness Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, and his Dewan, the renowned engineer - statesman, Sir M. Visvesvaraya, on July 27, 1916.
Yuvaraja’s College Mysore was established in 1928. Yuvaraja's College one of the four constituent Colleges of the University of Mysore is rich in history. It was first established as an Intermediate College on 24th June 1928 and in the year 1947-48, after Independence, the college was upgraded to a First Grade College.
The institute is an autonomous institute affiliated with the University of Mysore and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. The college is recognized as a College with potential for excellence by the University of Mysore.

The institute keeps an eye on poor students of the college to offer them free canteen service that feeds around 175 poor students of the college with a one-time mid-day meal on all days.

Residential AccommodationsThe institute provides the students with a hostel facility consisting of well-equipped rooms and services that includes all the modern facilities. The institute has seven hostels for students in need.
LibraryWelcome to Yuvaraja's college University Graduate Library. It is the oldest library established in 1918 and is presently catering to more than 3000 students and more than 100 staff members of the constituent colleges of the University of Mysore Yuvaraja's College. It has its own independent heritage building with about 2 lakhs of books and other information resources along with old publications and rare collections with the latest technological developments.
Internet CentreThe service of the Internet Centre is being availed by the Faculty, Researchers and Students. There is a steady increase in the number of users. The Internet service is available between 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The Centre is providing accessibility to UGC-INFONET Journals with full text and abstracts in addition to other subject databases and providing N-list services.
Computer CentreThe institute has a well-equipped computer centre with all the modern facilities including Servers, Inject printers, Multimedia kits, Ups, Stabilizers, and High-speed printers with internet facilities for both faculties and students of the institute.
Medical FacilitiesThe institute owns a health centre taking care of the students and faculties of the college with its proper and necessary medical aid.
Sports FacilitiesThere is an independent Department of Physical Education headed by a Director of the rank of Professor in the University supported by qualified Coaches in various sports items.
