JoSAA Seat Allotment 2025

JoSAA 2025: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the national-level counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, IIESTs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. Admission to IITs will be based on JEE Advanced 2025 rankings, and for NITs, IIESTs, IIITs, and other GFTIs, allocations will be made based on JEE Main 2025 rankings. JoSAA 2025 registration is expected to begin on June 3, a day after the JEE Advanced 2025 results are announced. The JoSAA 2025 application form and option-filling will be available online only on the official website in June 2025. JoSAA 2025 is expected to be conducted in five main rounds. Each round will involve the following steps: seat allocation, seat confirmation by candidates, online notification to the assigned institute, and fee payment. After each round, vacant seats will be allocated through CSAB 2025 counseling. The complete schedule and JoSAA counselling 2025 date, by round, will be updated on the official website, josaa.nic.in.

All candidates who have passed the JEE Advanced 2025 exam and obtained a JEE Main rank should register with the JoSAA 2025 counselling service to enroll in their desired undergraduate engineering courses offered by IITs, NITs, IIESTs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. The academic programs, along with the admission capacity by category, known as the JoSAA 2025 seat allotment, will be announced on the JoSAA 2025 online portal. In the previous session, the total number of seats offered by all these institutes was 59,937. Find all the details about JoSAA 2025, including admission requirements, how to apply, the counseling process, the placement matrix, and more, below.

What is JoSAA Counselling?

The JoSAA counseling process facilitates the allocation of seats for undergraduate engineering programs at various prestigious institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs. While admission to IITs is based on the JEE Advanced rank, seats at other participating institutions are allocated based on the JEE Main rank. The Ministry of Education has established the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to oversee the allocation process for a total of 121 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 40 other GFTIs. Eligible candidates must register through the official JoSAA online portal to participate in the JoSAA 2025 counselling and secure a seat at any of the institutes above.
