Review the in-depth analysis of XAT test
XAT is split into two sections of which part I consists of
sections on quantitative, verbal and decision-making. part-II consists of essay
writing as well as GK sections. The five sections are 100 multiple-choice
question and an essay on a particular topic. The length of the test is
around 190 minutes. In 2022, the essay writing section will be reinstated. The
difficulty in XAT2023 was almost similar to the level of last year. Here
are the key aspects that are included in XAT 2023.
Its difficulty of XAT 2022 was very the same as XAT
2021. This time, 'Quantitative ability as well as Data Interpretation'
were moderate. The RCs in the verbal section, as usual, were several
choices. Essay writing was also introduced by XAT. It was part II of
the exam. This year, the total number of MCQs was 75 in part 1 and 25,
(GK) within part II. The total time of this section was 160 minutes for
part I while 25 minutes were for Part II. There was a penalty for attempted
questions (after eight questions) but it was just at 0.10 marks. But, this
does not impact the overall score in any way. There were no non-MCQ (TITA)
tests this year either. The essays of the selected candidates will be
evaluated. In the majority of cases, GK and essay writing are considered
by XLRI and a handful of best colleges to select. The overall feeling of
the essay was average.
The standard that was present in XAT 2021 was a little more
difficult compared the level of XAT 2020. The Quantitative Ability section
as well as Data Interpretation" was moderately to difficult. The RCs
in the verbal section were, as usual, several choices. There was nothing
new this time as the paper was built on the standard formulas. The number
of questions was 75. The total time of this section was approximately 165
minutes. There was a penalty for not attempting questions (after eight
questions) and it was a mere worth 0.10 marks. This feature does not
impact the overall score in any way. There were no non-MCQ (TITA)
Questions this time, either. The overall feeling of the exam varied from
moderate to challenging.
The standard that was set by XAT 2020 was a little more
straightforward than XAT 2019, as this time's Quantitative ability and data
interpretation is easily mastered. The most notable change this time was
that a lot of questions from just a few sections as well as a whole section on
decision Making were not marked with negative marks. This was not
explicitly mentioned in the primary instructions, and a lot of students weren't
able to make use of this feature.
The difficulty in XAT 2019 was a little harder than XAT
2018. The number of questions was at 74. The total time for this
segment was about 165 minutes. There was a penalty for failing to attempt
questions (after eight questions) and it was a mere worth 0.10 marks. But,
this will not affect the score in any way. This year's XAT was not able to
include essay writing, in the manner it was announced. There were no
non-MCQ (TITA) questions, as was speculated prior to the exam.
The difficulty degree in XAT 2018 was a bit higher than XAT
2017. The number, of questions was 74. The total time of that section
was 170 minutes. There was a penalty for not attempting questions (after
eight questions) but it was just in the range of 0.05 marks. This feature,
however, does not impact the score in any way. The last time, a lot of
technical problems that resulted in the server going off and on repeatedly were
reported, and there were also reports of exam rescheduling at a couple of centres.
The difficulty for XAT 2017 was the same as XAT
2016. The number of questions were reduced to 72 instead of 78(previous
previous year). The duration in this segment was 170 minutes. There
was a penalty for not attempting questions but it was only 0.05
marks. But, this will not affect the overall score in any way.
The difficulty in XAT 2016 was very identical to XAT
2015. The number of questions was decreased to 78 instead of 83(previous
year) however the allotted time was increased in the amount of 30
minutes. In light of these two factors the cut-offs for this year's exam
will be slightly higher compared to the cut-offs of last year's. The other
feature of this year was that there was a penalty for failed questions. It was
only 0.05 marks. This feature isn't likely to impact the overall score in
any way. Read more...
Its difficulty of XAT 2015 was identical to XAT
2014. There was an increase of a small amount in the amount of tests
i.e. the number of questions increased from 83 to 84. Keep these
figures in mind that the cut-offs are expected to be similar to those of the
previous year.
