UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the June 2024 UGC NET re-examination on the official website. UGC NET 2024 will be held from August 21 to September 4, 2024. The NTA NET exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for re-examination. On the other hand, the UGC NET re-examination admit card and city certificate will be released soon on the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

What is UGC NET?

National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) or NTA UGC NET is a national-level examination to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Associate Professor only or for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET 2024 exam will be conducted for a total of 83 subjects. UGC NET 2024 Syllabus is different for all 83 subjects and is decided by the University Scholarship Committee. Till June 2018, the NET exam was conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the UGC. Now UGC NET test is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

UGC NET 2024 Admit Card

The admit card will soon be available on the official website of NTA for the UGC NET 2024. UGC NET Admit Card 2024 has been published at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The respective Candidate downloads the UGC NET 2024 admit card by entering the candidate number and password or by using the candidate number and date of birth. The admit card includes details regarding the exam venue, timing, and date. It would also encompass exam transfer and UGC NET exam date instructions.

On the date of examination, they must have a photo ID card and UGC NET ID card 2024. UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

NTA has released UGC NET 2024 eligibility criteria along with official notification. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can appear for the UGC NET exam 2024. Eligibility criteria include details like age limit and academic qualification. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria details and follow the UGC NET 2024 application process.

UGC NET 2024 Educational Qualification
  1. 55% marks in Masters or equivalent examination from UGC recognized Institutions/Universities in subjects like Computer Science and Humanities, Social Sciences, Electronic Sciences etc.
  2. 50% marks in Masters degree or equivalent examination in Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Disabled (PwD) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer.
  3. Candidates with PhD who have completed their M.Sc and awaiting result declaration will get 5% relaxation (ie 55-50%).
  4. Those who have completed their master's studies, are entering the final year of their master's studies or are awaiting results can apply for this exam. However, applicants must have a master's degree to qualify for a junior research fellowship / assistant professor position.
  5. It is also open to applicants who have completed a diploma course or institute, or who have a foreign diploma/certificate issued by a foreigner.
  6. The University/ Diploma/ Certificate should be awarded by any Indian University. The candidate shall make sure that his/her Diploma/ Degree is equivalent to the Master's Degree of any Indian University, recognized by AIU, New Delhi.
UGC NET 2024 Age limit
  1. Applicants must be 31 years of age to receive the Junior Researcher Scholarship. However, this only applies to this session.
  2. Lecturers have no upper age limit.

UGC NET 2024 Application Process

The UGC NET 2024 Correction Form Window was activated on 21.5.2024 and closed on 23.5.2024. The board closed the UGC NET 2024 application form on 19.05.2024 (extended date) at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. UGC NET application was released on the official website on 20 April 2024. Candidates must keep all the required documents with them while registering for UGC NET 2024.

UGC NET 2024 Selection Process

The UGC NET selection process starts with the release of the official notification. The UGC NET notification is the first official document which contains the exam related information like exam dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus and other details. UGC NET selection process consists of several stages. Check out the following steps:

Step 1: Fill out the UGC NET application form

The UGC NET process starts with the publication of the application form. Candidates have to register and fill out the UGC NET application form online by visiting the official website of the exam. Applicants must pay an application fee to complete the form.

Step 2: Download the UGC NET Admit Card

After successful registration, NTA will issue the UGC NET Admit Card about a week before the exam. Candidates can download the admit card by logging into their registered accounts. Candidates must carry the admit card to the UGC NET examination centres on the day of the examination.

Step 3: Register for the UGC NET Exam

Candidates who have registered for UGC NET exam should appear for the exam. UGC NET is a computer-based test consisting of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers contain objective questions that candidates have to complete within three hours.

Step 4: Check the UGC NET result

NTA will announce the UGC NET results on its official website as per the prescribed schedule. The result contains the number and status of the candidates, ie. whether the candidate qualified for the Assistant Professor, JRF examination or failed the examination.
