UGC NET 2026 (ELIBILITY CRITERIA)

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Educational Qualifications

According to the UGC NET eligibility, applicants must meet some educational qualifications to appear in the UGC NET exam 2026. The educational qualifications for UGC NET 2026 are mentioned below:

3. Third gender category candidates will face the lowest subject-wise cut-off among other lower categories.
4. Only the candidate should come to the subject of Post-Graduation.
5. The candidates who have passed a 4-year bachelor's degree program should have 75% marks. Relaxation to the extent of 5% marks or equivalent may be provided to backwards class candidates ( SC/ST/OBC).
6. Applicants who are still studying a 4-year bachelor's degree can also apply for the exam. But the applicants shall be given the JRF/admission to Ph.D only after satisfying some conditions.
7. Applicants who are studying a Bachelor's degree can opt for the subject of their choice in the UGC NET exam in the subject where they wish to go for their Ph.D.
