National Testing Agency provides UGC NET Syllabus 2024 in its official notification. The UGC NET 2024 Syllabus PDF is available for download at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The exam syllabus is published along with the UGC NET 2024 exam pattern. According to the exam pattern, the NET exam has two papers. NTA UGC NET 2024 Paper 1 is the same for all the candidates while Paper 2 is optional and candidates can check and choose the subject of their preference. Paper 2 has a total of 83 topics to choose from. Hindu Studies and the Indian Knowledge System are two subjects that were recently added from the previous session.

General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude

UGC NET syllabus Paper 1 tests the candidate's teaching and research skills and ability as well as the aptitude of the candidate. UGC NET Paper 1 exam syllabus to test the cognitive skills of candidates including comprehension, analysis, evaluation, understanding of argument structure and deductive and inductive reasoning. 

The UGC NET 2024 syllabus also offers test candidates a general awareness of the teaching and learning of the higher education system. UGC NET Syllabus 2024 Paper 1: Marking Scheme

UGC NET Paper 1 is the same and compulsory for all candidates. Paper 2 is different for different subjects.

  1. UGC NET Paper 1 includes a total of 50 multiple-choice questions.
  2. Each question carries 2 marks.
  3. The UGC NET exam syllabus for Paper 1 covers 10 units.
  4. 5 questions will be asked from each unit (i.e. 10 units X 5 questions = 50 questions).
