The UGC NET 2026 consists of 2 papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. The syllabus for the UGC NET Paper 1 is the same for all the candidates appearing for the exam. But the syllabus of the UGC NET paper 2 is different based on the subject of study of the candidate, and they can select the subjects they prefer to appear for. 85 subjects are available to be chosen from Paper 2. Indian Knowledge System, Disaster Management System and Ayurveda Biology are the three subjects added new from the earlier session.

Subject: General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude
The UGC NET syllabus paper 1 exam checks the teaching and research capability of the candidate, along with the candidate's aptitude.
