Cochin University will release the CUSAT CAT 2025 eligibility criteria along with the official notification at cusat.ac.in. The eligibility criteria of CUSAT CAT 2025 will include educational qualification, age limit, and compulsory subjects. Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirements will be able to apply for the CUSAT exam. Students are advised to check the CUSAT CAT eligibility criteria before filling the CUSAT CAT application form. B.Tech admission in Cochin University of Science and Technology will be based on the CUSAT CAT 2025 exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate courses

The basic criteria to take admission in any undergraduate course is the 10+2 exam result. If a candidate clears 10+2 with 50% marks in aggregate then he/she is eligible to apply for CUSAT CAT. Eligibility for 3-year LLB course is full-time graduation in any discipline.

Post-graduation courses

For postgraduate courses, candidates need to share GATE score card to get a relaxation of 5% on the minimum percentage required to apply.

B.Tech in Naval Architecture and ship building

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Mathematics.

MPhil courses

SC/ST category candidates are given a relaxation of 5%. Out of the total seats available, 50% will be reserved for college or university teachers and instructors. Teachers must have at least 3 years of experience to apply for this. In case seats are available, candidates from the general category will also be allowed to apply.

PHD course

Interested candidates must have a full-time master's degree to apply. The postgraduate degree must be obtained from at least one of the reputed universities recognized in the country. A minimum of 55% marks or 6 CGPA in a scale of 10 is mandatory to apply for PhD course at Cochin University of Science and Technology. For SC/ST candidates, the required percentage is 45%.

Post-doctoral fellowship

Candidates can also opt for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme by applying for CUSAT CAT. The minimum requirement is a recognised doctoral degree with at least 2 years of research experience. The age limit is 45 years. Candidates will be paid Rs 25,000 per month for the research programme.

CUSAT CAT Reservation Policy

Candidates are suggested to have a look at the CUSAT CAT 2024 reservation policy:

  1. A certain percentage of the total seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ST and economically disadvantaged categories and are from Kerala (Communal Reservation Quota seats)
  2. Some seats will be reserved for CUSAT CAT applicants
  3. 3% of the total seats will also be reserved for candidates who suffer from disability (only candidates with a minimum of 40% disability will be considered, except for Mechanical and Marine Engineering courses)
  4. Seats are reserved for visually impaired candidates only in LLM courses and MA Hindi
  5. 50% of the total seats in MBA are reserved for candidates who have 3 years or more of work experience on paper
  6. 50% of the total seats in M.Phil are reserved for candidates who have 2 years or more of teaching experience
  7. Some seats are reserved for candidates from Lakshadweep (Lakshadweep Administration Sponsorship Quota)
  8. MCA applicants who have 3 years or more of experience in the relevant field and are from the Government and Apply for admission to one of the 2 seats reserved for those who are sponsored by the research institute (applicant must be below 30 years of age)
  9. 3 seats are reserved in the M.Sc Industrial Fisheries programme for employees of the Fisheries Development Department
  10. 2 seats are reserved in the Oceanography programme
  11. 2 seats are reserved for candidates with 3 years or more experience in the relevant field in the M.Tech Polymer Technology programme
  12. Statistical Engineers appearing for CUSAT CAT will get 2 seats reserved for them
  13. 1 seat is reserved in the Full-time MBA programme for Army Officer (recommended from Army Headquarters)
  14. 1 seat in each course will be reserved for students from the sports category
  15. Some seats are reserved for candidates from the Jewish community
  16. 1 seat in each programme is reserved for children of ex-servicemen
  17. 15 seats are reserved for Naval candidates
  18. Under additional quota, 2 seats are reserved for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir

CUSAT CAT Application Form 2025

The Cochin University of Science and Technology will make the CUSAT CAT 2025 application form available on its official website. Applicants must check the CUSAT 2025 eligibility criteria before filling the online application form. The first step is to complete the CUSAT CAT registration for 2025. Following successful registration, candidates can proceed to fill out the application form. After filling all the details, candidates have to pay the application fee in online mode and upload the required documents in the form. Applicants who fill the application form before the last date will be able to download the CUSAT CAT 2025 admit card from the official website.
