IIT Roorkee will release the results of GATE 2026 on the official website. Candidates can check GATE Result 2026 through the GOAPS portal using candidate login credentials. Below are the instructions to check the GATE Exam Result 2026
First of all, visit the GATE 2026 official website and follow the below-given steps to check the GATE result 2026:
The following details will be mentioned in the GATE 2026 result.
The examination authority calculates the GATE score considering the original score obtained by the candidates in the GATE 2026 result. Raw scores or actual scores are distributed to candidates after the answers are evaluated. GATE marks for a multi-session exam are calculated by converting raw marks to normalized marks for that subject. Raw marks are used to calculate GATE marks based on qualifying marks.
Since the authorities conduct the GATE exam over multiple sessions, the same normalization process is used to account for the differences in the difficulty levels of the question papers across sessions. The authorities normalize the marks based on the basic assumption that "in all GATE 2025 papers, the skill distribution of candidates is same in all sessions".
This assumption is justified because the number of candidates appearing in the multi-session editions of GATE 2025 is large and the allotment of sessions to candidates is random. Based on this and keeping in mind the various normalization methods, the authorities will calculate the normalized marks for the 2025 multi-session GATE papers as per the following formula:-
The institution will release the GATE cut-off along with the exam result. Candidates whose marks in the GATE exam are more than the qualifying marks will be considered as passed. Eligible candidates must attend the COAP and CCMT counselling process to get admission to IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI. There are also different cutoffs for GATE and admission. Below is the GATE Eligibility Cut-Off as per the previous year's analysis
