The Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) has announced the JKCET Eligibility Criteria for the entrance test aspirants. JKBOPEE organises the state-level Common Entrance Test for admission to several professional courses in the UT of J&K, including Medical, Engineering, Polytechnic, Paramedical Courses, etc. The aspiring candidates need to fulfil the JKCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria to sit for the exam.

  1. The candidates should possess a Domicile certificate of the UT of J&K from a competent Authority of the UT of Ladakh.

Age Limit Criteria

  1. Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 2025. There is no upper age limit.

Note: There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.

Educational Qualifications
  1. The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates and 40% marks for the reserved category candidates.
  2. Those Candidates who are appearing/ appeared in the 12th Class annual examination 2025 are also eligible to appear in CET-2025, subject to the condition that such candidates should have passed the examination at the time of declaration of the result/at the time of counselling, as may be notified by the Board.
Number of Attempts 

There is no limit on the Number Of Attempts to apply for the JKCET 2025. A candidate can apply as many times as they want under the age limit.

JKCET Eligibility Criteria - Nationality and Domicile

Candidates must be permanent residents of the state of J&K. They should have a Domicile certificate of UT of J&K or an ST certificate issued by the competent Authority of UT of Ladakh, considered as a Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh.

  3. A candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination.
  4. Also, a candidate must achieve a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in JKCET 2026 to appear in the merit list prepared by the competent authority.
JKCET 2026 Eligibility for Reserved Category Candidates (SC/ST/Other Backwards Classes)
  1. A reserved category student must secure a minimum of 40% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 examinations.
  2. In addition, a student must secure a minimum of 40% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in JKCET 2026 to appear in the merit list.
