The State CET Cell has published the MHT CET 2025 eligibility requirements in the informational brochure available at cetcell.mahacet.org. Candidates can use this page to confirm the MHT CET 2025 eligibility requirements. The minimal requirements to take the Maharashtra CET exam are part of the MHT CET eligibility criteria. Students can complete the MHT CET 2025 application form if they receive a minimum of 45% in their 10+2 or equivalent exam from an accredited board or university. The number of attempts for the MHT CET is unlimited. The MHT CET 2025 exam will take place from April 22 to May 16.

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidate Nationality: All candidates ought to be citizens of India.

Age Restrictions: The candidates are not subject to any age restrictions imposed by the authorities. 

Qualification Test: Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects in their 12th grade or its equivalent from an accredited board or university. Applicants who plan to sit for the qualifying exam, which is the 12th grade in 2025, are also qualified to take it. 

Minimum Marks Needed: Candidates from the general category must have received at least 50% of the possible points in their 12th-grade exam; candidates from the SC, ST, and OBC categories may only receive 45% of the possible points.

Students’ Category

Eligibility Criteria

Children of NRI/OCI/PIO/Indian workers in Gulf Countries (CWGC), Foreign National (FN) Candidates

These applicants must have completed the HSC or an equivalent exam, with Physics and Mathematics required, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical, or Vocational subjects, with a minimum of 50% in each subject taken together.

Candidates of Maharashtra State (State Quota)

Nationality: Only citizens of India are qualified. Educational Requirements: Applicants must have passed the HSC or its equivalent exam, with Mathematics and Physics required, and any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical, or Vocational. For the General Category, candidates must have received at least 50% of the possible points in these subjects; for the Reserved Category and PwD candidates (limited to Maharashtra State), the minimum percentage required was 45%. Alternatively, candidates must have completed a diploma programme in engineering with a minimum of 50% overall for general candidates and a minimum of 45% for reserved, backwards, and disabled candidates who are solely residents of Maharashtra State. Alternatively, you must have earned a B.Sc. degree from a university accredited by the UGC, as defined by the UGC, with a minimum of 50% overall for the general category and a minimum of 45% overall for the backward class and people with disabilities who are solely from Maharashtra State. These applicants ought to have completed mathematics as a subject in their XII class.

Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria for MHT CET 2025

Candidature Type

Eligibility Criterion

Type A

Applicants passing the Maharashtra state-recognized HSC, Bachelor of Science, or Diploma in Engineering exam. A candidate who was either born in Maharashtra or has their domicile there

Type B

The candidates do not fit into Type A, but their parents are from Maharashtra. (They need to have a certificate of domicile).

Type C

Applicants whose parents work for the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking but who do not fit into Type A or Type B categories. Before the MHT CET application deadline, one of the parents must be assigned and reported to duty in Maharashtra.

Type D

Candidates who do not fall in (Type A, B and C category), but either of their parents are employees of or are retired as Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

Type E

Applicants whose mother language is Marathi and who have passed the SSC or HSC exam from an accredited school located in a contentious Maharashtra-Karnataka border area.

Important Instructions for MHT CET 2025 Candidates

  1. There will be multiple choice questions (MCQs) on the question paper.
  2. There will be four options (answers) for each question.
  3. Out of the four options, only one will be accurate.
  4. Each question in the subjects of biology, chemistry, and physics will be worth one mark.
  5. There will be two marks available for each question in maths classes.
  6. The MHT CET lasts for 180 minutes in total.
  7. The applicant must respond to 150 questions.
  8. No negative marking is present.
  9. It is recommended that candidates avoid devoting excessive time to any one question.
  10. There will be questions in Marathi, Urdu, and English.
  11. Only candidates who selected Urdu or Marathi as their preferred language on the online CET application form will have access to the question paper in those languages.
