MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Maharashtra State CET Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website cetcell.mahacet.org. Candidates can check the MHT CET eligibility criteria to know the minimum conditions required to appear for the Maharashtra entrance exam. The minimum MHT CET eligibility criteria 2026 requires candidates to have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized board/university. The authority has also made several other criteria mandatory for application. Eligible candidates can fill the MHT CET 2026 application form with late fee till February 27, 2026. The authority will conduct MHT CET 2026 in online mode between April 9 to 27, 2026 for both PCM and PCB groups.
Candidate Nationality: All candidates ought to be citizens of India.
Age Restrictions: The candidates are not subject to any age restrictions imposed by the authorities.
Qualification Test: Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects in their 12th grade or its equivalent from an accredited board or university. Applicants who plan to sit for the qualifying exam, which is the 12th grade in 2025, are also qualified to take it.
Minimum Marks Needed: Candidates from the general category must have received at least 50% of the possible points in their 12th-grade exam; candidates from the SC, ST, and OBC categories may only receive 45% of the possible points.

Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks (for General category). However, the minimum marks for reserved category and Divyang candidates (belonging to Maharashtra state only) is 40% marks. OR As per the MHT CET eligibility criteria for other state students, candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with minimum 50% aggregate marks (for General Category) and minimum 45% aggregate marks (for Reserved/Backward Classes/Persons with Disabilities belonging to Maharashtra State only). OR Candidates must have passed B.Sc degree from a recognized university with minimum 45% aggregate marks (for general category) and minimum 40% aggregate marks (for backward class/disabled persons belonging to Maharashtra state only). These candidates must have passed class XII with Mathematics as a subject. |

Either of the parents should be posted and reported to the duty in Maharashtra before the deadline of MHT CET CAP application submission (which means the counselling application form). |
The parents posting area must fall within the jurisdiction of the respective University area. |

This group includes applicants who are Indian citizens but do not reside in Maharashtra. Candidates who do not reside in the state can also apply for MHT CET 2026 and take admission in the best colleges in Maharashtra.
Candidates of the State of Maharashtra who are members of any particular linguistic or religious minority community declared by the Government fall in this category.
Candidates in this category must have domicile certificate, residential certificate, residence and date of birth certificate issued by an authorized organization outside the state of Maharashtra. Migrant candidates from Jammu and Kashmir will be considered for OMS

Nationality: Only citizens of India are qualified. Educational Requirements: Applicants must have passed the HSC or its equivalent exam, with Mathematics and Physics required, and any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical, or Vocational. For the General Category, candidates must have received at least 50% of the possible points in these subjects; for the Reserved Category and PwD candidates (limited to Maharashtra State), the minimum percentage required was 45%. Alternatively, candidates must have completed a diploma programme in engineering with a minimum of 50% overall for general candidates and a minimum of 45% for reserved, backwards, and disabled candidates who are solely residents of Maharashtra State. Alternatively, you must have earned a B.Sc. degree from a university accredited by the UGC, as defined by the UGC, with a minimum of 50% overall for the general category and a minimum of 45% overall for the backward class and people with disabilities who are solely from Maharashtra State. These applicants ought to have completed mathematics as a subject in their XII class. |
