The XAT syllabus 2025 is prescribed by XLRI Jamshedpur. The syllabus of the XAT 2025 exam includes Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. XAT has a unique section – Decision Making, for which candidates need to prepare separately. To score good marks in XAT 2025, candidates need to cover every topic of the syllabus.

The syllabus of XAT is as comprehensive as that of CAT, and just like CAT, there is no official XAT syllabus 2025which gives some flexibility to the organisers while setting the paper. Before covering the XAT exam syllabus, all the XAT test takers must be aware of the XAT exam pattern 2025 which must be looked at carefully.

Because of this rule of not leaving more than eight questions unattempted, candidates have to be very strategic about the questions they leave.
The QA and DI section of XAT exam comprises 28 questions which are considered to be the most challenging in the XAT exam. It assesses the candidates' proficiency in handling mathematical problems within time constraints. Solving the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation questions requires candidates to have a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and calculations. Additionally, candidates must learn various shortcuts and tricks to easily solve QA questions.

The decision-making section of the XAT exam syllabus makes the exam different from other management tests. In this section, candidates are given passages or sets of information that require logical analysis to find an accurate solution. The XAt question paper consists of 6-8 decision-making sets, each followed by 2-3 questions, a total of 22 MCQs.

This section of the XAT syllabus 2025 aims to evaluate the candidates' knowledge and proficiency in the English language and reasoning ability. Around 50% of the questions in the Verbal and Reasoning Ability section are related to English grammar and reading comprehension, which includes passages on topics such as politics, economics, etc. The Reasoning section also includes topics requiring deductive reasoning and interpretation.

The essay writing test in the XAT exam evaluates the writing ability of the candidates. Candidates are required to write a concise and well-structured essay on one of the given topics. Candidates get around 20-25 minutes to prepare their essay. Generally, the essay topics are related to current events of international importance. While writing the essay, candidates must ensure that their essay contains at least 200 words.
The General Knowledge section of XAT is easier than other sections. Also, it is not considered for percentage calculation. While preparing for the General Knowledge section of XAT, study the following topics included in the XAT syllabus 2025.
