The Delhi High Court will soon pronounce its judgment on a number of petitions against the results of CLAT UG 2025. In the meantime, the Court will start hearing cases pertaining to the CLAT PG 2025 from April 21, 2025. The CLAT counselling process is currently pending, and the court's judgment is likely to be instrumental in determining the way the admission process for CLAT 2025 will proceed.
On April 9, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela considered several petitions that were filed against the results of the CLAT UG 2025 exam. The petitions raised objections regarding the question paper and answer key. The court has now reserved its order and will be pronouncing the final verdict on April 16, 2025.
During the hearing, the judges emphasised the importance of resolving the issue at the earliest, particularly as it pertains to undergraduate admissions. The bench informed that issues related to the CLAT PG exam would be heard in a separate hearing on April 21.
Previously, the Supreme Court directed all CLAT 2025 petitions to the Delhi High Court to avoid conflicting judgments. Though there were proposals to transfer the cases to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where the initial petition was filed, the Consortium asked for all cases to be tried in one court.
Earlier, on December 20, 2024, the Delhi High Court instructed the Consortium to re-correct CLAT UG 2025 results because there were wrong answers in the official answer key. The court discovered that two questions were wrongly answered and instructed the Consortium to release corrected results.
The CLAT 2025 examination took place on December 1, 2024, for admissions into five-year integrated LLB courses at National Law Universities (NLUs). The first result was announced on December 7, 2024.
With the recent court ruling to be announced shortly, students are requested to remain informed through proper channels of any alteration in results or counselling timetables.
The Delhi High Court asked the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to recall and correct CLAT UG 2025 results because several discrepancies were detected in the answer key released. Several candidates who have appeared in CLAT have pointed out inaccuracies in a certain set of questions, including some in the Logical Reasoning section.
The High Court, after considering a group of petitions, held that at least two questions had wrongly answered questions, which affected the accuracy of marks. The court then directed the Consortium to rescore the results and re-publish the merit list accordingly.
Revised Merit List for CLAT UG/PG 2025
Following the order of the Delhi High Court that asked the Consortium to re-mark some questions in the CLAT 2025 exam, the merit lists for UG and PG courses have been revised.
The revised merit list contains:
Because of the court proceedings and revised outcomes, the initial CLAT 2025 counselling schedule has been suspended. The Consortium of NLUs will issue a new counselling calendar soon.
