Who Can Apply for JEE Advanced 2025?

Candidates fulfilling the following five criteria will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025:

1. Performance in JEE Main 2025

• Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 qualified candidates (across all categories) in the JEE Main 2025 B.E./B.Tech. paper (Paper 1).

2. Age Limit

• Candidates should have been carried on or after 1 October 2000. 
• SC, ST and Divyang candidates will be given 5-year relaxation in the age limit (born on or after 1 October 1995).

3. Number of Attempts

• A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

4. Appearance in Class XII (or Equivalent)

1. Candidates must have appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
2. Candidates who have appeared in 2023 or earlier are not eligible, except:
3. If their board has declared the 2022-23 results on or after June 28, 2023, they are eligible (provided all other criteria are met).
4. If the result was declared before June 28, 2023, and the candidate's result was withheld, they are not eligible.

5. Earlier Admission at IITS

1. Candidates must not have been admitted to any IIT (as per JoSAA 2024 rules), whether they have joined or withdrawn.
2. Those whose admission was cancelled after joining any IIT are also not eligible.
3. However, candidates who were admitted to a preparatory course in an IIT for the first time in 2024 can appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
