NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) concluded the NEET UG 2024 aptitude test on May 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM in 571 cities in India and abroad. More than 24 lakh NEET 2024 candidates have appeared for India's largest undergraduate (UG) medical entrance exam. NEET 2024 Solutions and Question Paper Analysis

Question Paper Analysis: Highlights 

1. Biology: As expected, the Biology section had more weightage with conceptual and factual questions. Candidates reported that this section was moderately difficult.
2. Chemistry: The chemistry section had organic and inorganic chemistry questions and physical chemistry had difficult numerical questions. The overall difficulty level was moderate.
3. Physics: This section was considered the most difficult and contained difficult numerical and conceptual questions. The physical section required a deep understanding and problem-solving skills. 

NEET UG 2024: Cutoff

In the NEET exam, the NEET exam is usually of two types – Entrance Exam and Eligibility test. NEET Qualifying Score is the minimum score a candidate must score to clear the exam, while NEET 2024 Cut-Off is the final score a candidate will be admitted to.

Expected NEET 2024 Cutoffs

NEET 2024 cut-off scores play a crucial role in determining admission to medical and dental colleges. Although the official cutoffs are published along with the results, experts and coaching institutes often offer expected cutoff ranges based on the difficulty level of the exam and trends from previous years.

Factors Influencing NEET Cutoffs

1. Difficulty Level: A more complex test usually results in lower cutoff values, while a simpler test results in higher cutoff values.
2. Number of Candidates: An increase in the number of students may lead to increased competition and potentially increased restrictions.
3. Availability of Seats: The total number of seats in MBBS and BDS courses affects dropout trends. 

NEET cut-off 2024 for Jammu and Kashmir government medical colleges

NTA concluded the NEET UG 2024 exam yesterday. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET UG counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) for MBBS and BDS seats in states including Jammu and Kashmir. 

NEET cutoff: Tie-breaking process

If the rank of two or more candidates is equal, then the criterion of the offence of the NEET eligibility score will be used. The steps given below are used to match the NEET results. As per the latest update mentioned in the NEET 2024 notification, the following cut-off process will be followed:

1. Higher marks in Biology:  Candidates with higher marks/percentile in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be preferred in the NEET merit list.
2. Higher marks in Chemistry: If there is still a tie, a candidate's higher marks/percentage in Chemistry will be considered.
3. Higher marks in Physics: If there is still a tie, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be considered first. 
4. Number of incorrect answers: If the tie is still there, students with less number of incorrect answers in the complete test will be allotted a better rank.
5. A number of incorrect answers in particular subjects: If the tie still exists, then the students with less number of incorrect answers in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics respectively will be given preference.
