Adarsh Institute of Technology and Research Centre Accreditation and Ranking
AITRC Approved by AICTE: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promote development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.
The Council's financial operations primarily rely on grants from the Government of India, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Health & Family Welfare. Additionally, the Council derives income from various sources, including a portion (1/4th share) of the fees collected annually by State Dental Councils under Section 53 of the Dentists Act, 1948, inspection fees from dental institutions under Section 15 of the Dentists Act, 1948, and application fees from organizations seeking permission to establish new dental colleges, introduce higher courses of study, or increase admission capacity in existing dental colleges under Section 10A of the Dentists (Amendment) Act, 1993.
AITRC Affiliated with SU (Shivaji University): Shivaji University, founded in 1962, pays homage to the renowned Maratha warrior and founder of the Maratha empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The university was inaugurated on 18th November 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, with the primary aim of meeting the educational needs of South Maharashtra. Its jurisdiction spans three districts – Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara – with approximately 300,000 students enrolled in its 280 affiliated colleges and recognized institutes. This region is renowned for its rich socio-cultural heritage. Under the progressive leadership of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, the city of Kolhapur emerged as an educational hub at the beginning of the 20th century, providing educational opportunities for all classes and communities in South-Western Maharashtra and northern parts of neighboring Karnataka. This region is also associated with Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, who advocated for mass education through his innovative 'Earn and Learn' scheme. The Shivaji University Act of 1962 aimed to provide higher education opportunities to rural youth, conduct research in science and humanities, and promote regional growth and development.
In its inception, the University began with 34 affiliated colleges and approximately 14,000 students, along with five Post-graduate Departments on campus. Presently, the university has expanded to 280 affiliated colleges with around 300,000 students and 34 Postgraduate Departments on campus. It offers education across 10 major faculties, including Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Engineering, and Technology.
