The Army Institute of Law (AIL) turned to set up in July 1999 via way of means of the Indian Army beneath neath the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at its meantime place at Patiala. In July 2003, the Institute shifted to Sector 68, Mohali. On December 1, 2003, the Mohali Campus turned into inaugurated via way of means of H.E. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. The Institute is affiliated with the Punjabi University, Patiala. With 'Aspire & Achieve' as its motto, the Institute has grown as a Centre of Excellence withinside the area of felony education.

Auditorium:

The hall is equipped with a high-tech projection device for meetings and presentations. This is used for board meetings, administrative functions, and for staff meetings.

Moot Court: 

The Moot Court Room of AIL has a seating capability of 60 college students with court proceedings. This facility facilitates our college students to enhance their advocacy skills.

Sports Facilities:

The Institute offers indoor and outdoor sports activities facilities for all-spherical character development of college students. It has Synthetic Basketball Courts, Volleyball courts, Badminton, and TableTennis.

AIL has a fitness center facility with contemporary-day machines and devices that is open to college students.

Admission

The selection for admission is on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the respected Institute itself.

Placements

The placement cell of the Army Institute of Law focuses on providing their students with practical experiences for their CV building and development overall and offers them placements in their respective final academic year of the law study program. It is responsible for providing placement opportunities along with internship experiences during summer and winter breaks to its students for exposure. Top recruiters include AZB, Howden, and others. Students can also pursue internships along with their coursework

Army institute of law was established in 1999 by the Indian Army under the Army Welfare Education Society.[2] In July 2003, the Institute shifted to Sector 68, Mohali. On 1 December 2003, the Mohali Campus was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. The institute is affiliated to the Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have accredited AIL with a grade 'A'. The institution offers 5-year integrated BA LLB programme and a 1-year postgraduate LLM programme with a specialisation in Family Law or Criminal Law. Both the programmes offered by the institution are approved by the Bar Council of India.

AIL offers a 5-year integrated B.A LL.B. program. The school reserves 60 seats of the total 80 for wards of Army personnel and 20 are available for civilians. Sixteen civilian slots are for students from Punjab and four are for the All-India Civil Category. The college is approved by the Bar Council of India. Admission is based on the Army Institute of Law Entrance Test, except that civilian students from Punjab are selected on the basis of 10+2

AIL offers a one-year postgraduate L.L.M. program with options to specialize in Criminal Law or Family law. The prestigious course enrolls passionate students on the basis of a common entrance examination.
