Aliah University offers Ph.D. programs in various streams such as Engineering, Science, Humanities, Social Science, and religious studies. The University also offers a D.Litt. in Humanities, Social Science & Religious Studies & D.Sc in Science & Engineering. D.Litt. & D.Sc degrees are considered above the Ph.D. degree. These degrees are awarded based on the candidate’s research aptitude & number of publications. The University invites applications twice a year in the months of April-May & October-November. Candidates can apply for any of the Regular full-time, full-time-sponsored, Part-time self-sponsored (internal), or Part-time self-sponsored (External) categories.
1. Undergraduate Programs
B.Tech: B.Tech programs for candidates with a Diploma in engineering. Admission to the program is based on the AUAT and WBJEE exam scores.
BBA, BCA, B. Com, B. Sc, BA, BA LLB: The admission policy majorly depends on the merit of the student in the qualifying examination which is 10+2. But for the integrated 5-year BA LLB course, the university prefers the scores from law entrance examinations such as the AUAT exam.
2. Postgraduate Programs
MBA: The candidate should have an Aliah University Management Admission Test (AUMAT) or a valid score from national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT.
M.Tech: Original GATE score is desirable for admission into the institutions. This is because the more valid the GATE score in any field is, the better chance one stands to get into the best institution of his or her choice.
MCA: Qualification of the candidate in the examination is the criteria for admission. Based on performance in the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT).
MA, M.Sc., LLM, and MJMC: M.Sc. in Mathematics is a 2-year. Candidates who have passed Part I & Part II exams or equivalent grades taken together in respective Honours/Major subjects from any recognized University are also eligible to appear for AUAT.
3. Doctoral Programs
Ph.D.: They should have obtained valid scores in university (AUPET) or an equivalent national-level exam such as NET/JRF, GATE, or SLET.
