Residential Accommodations

95% of students enrolled in Amritapuri Campus are residential students. First-year students are accommodated in hostels located on the ashram premises. Facilities available include large and spacious dining halls, cafes selling wholesome Indian and Western goodies, a juice stall, a provisions store, and a western stationary shop.

With the objective to further overall development of students, participation in a wide range of extra-curricular, social, and community development activities is encouraged. Associations like Samskriti (Students Association for Performing Arts & Culture), Saahiti (Literary Association), Amrita Samskrita Saparya, Synergos (the science forum on campus), in addition to various clubs like karate club, robotics club, photographic club, and astronomy club help bring out the creative talents in students and promote team-spirit.

The Amrita Robotics Club was created with the purpose of developing interest in the field of Robotics among the student community. As one of the emerging fields in India with great potential, Robotics offers students the opportunity to practice and hone many multi-disciplinary skills. Regular classes on Robotics by experts are offered as well as workshops and other resources help in beginning the students’ dream projects. Information on events and tech fests in various colleges is shared as well as regular meetings are conducted to facilitate the sharing of ideas.

As the Science Forum of the campus, Synergos helps students develop a scientific temperament and a research-oriented mindset by conducting weekly brainstorming sessions, seminars, quizzes and discussions. The Forum also celebrates events of scientific importance such as National Science Day and Nobel Prize Week.

IAM Technique is a powerful meditation technique synthesized by Amma to help people find fulfillment in life. When practiced regularly, the technique refines one’s mind — bringing relaxation, concentration, a more expansive sense of self, and greater awareness. Ultimately the technique takes practitioners to the goal of human life – the realization of the divinity pervading all of creation. Amma’s senior disciples teach the technique free of charge in all parts of the world.

Central Library is the hub of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapetham, Amritapuri Campus. It is a Learning Resource Centre and supports the teaching and learning activities of all the Students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members, and all other staff members on this campus. The Central Library has a carpet area of 1500 square meters. It has separate sections like a spacious stack area, Circulation Counter, Information Desk, Digital Library, Periodical section, a Reference section, Acquisition Section, Technical Section; WiFi enabled Reading halls for boys and girls.

One day in the even semester is devoted for competitions in sports where students get the opportunity to exhibit their talents in athletics and games. The facilities provided by the campus help create a healthy spirit of competitiveness in these events.
