Bengaluru Institute of Technology is an engineering college offering undergraduate and graduate engineering courses and is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Belgaum University of Technology based in Bengaluru.  The institution was established in August 1979 under the auspices of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha of Bengaluru. Bengaluru Institute of Technology (BIT) was founded in 1979 with the aim of providing quality education in the field of technology to serve society. It has achieved an enviable level of excellence in technical education. This has been achieved with the full support of Rajy Vokkaligar Sangha, dedicated staff, and students. The BIT environment motivates students to quench their thirst for knowledge. 

The college undertakes to ensure the holistic development of the students. BIT has always been at the cutting edge of modern technology and has the distinction of being the first college to introduce a comprehensive computer science and engineering degree in Karnataka.  The Institute has identified areas for future growth and has incorporated various courses over the years. Currently, BIT has 13 undergraduates, 6 postgraduates, and 13 research and development programs.

There is a canteen, a hostel, a hospital, a bank with ATMs, a copier, Spóldzielnia Pracownicza BIT (where students can buy stationery and textbooks at discounted prices), and parking lots but on campus items.  Also part of the BIT campus is Kuvempu kala kshetra, a multipurpose auditorium with a capacity of around 800 people.

It is no exaggeration to say that, in addition to serving hygienic food, BIT Campus Hostels offer students a space to thrive. 

Canteen: 

The college canteen is one of the busiest places on campus. Sure, it's famous for its spicy food, but it's also where students keep some of their best student memories. On the BIT campus, there are two canteens at the main entrance and at the back entrance, where all kinds of food are served. Both canteens are hygienic and well-kept.
