About Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research 

Bharath Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) was established in 1984 by Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan as the first self-financed engineering college in Tamil Nadu under the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust. Subsequently, the trust founded Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital in 1989. Recognized as a university by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in July 2002, under the UGC Act of 1956, it was later placed under the umbrella of the Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER).

Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) in Chennai offers admissions to diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Admission to the B.Tech. program at BIHER Chennai is based on the candidate's performance in the Bharath Engineering Entrance Examination (BEEE). For B.Arch. admissions, candidates' scores in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) determine selection. For other programs at BIHER Chennai, admissions are based on candidates' performance in their respective qualifying examinations.

B.Tech and B.Tech Lateral Admission:
Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 or its equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Additionally, they must qualify for the Bharath Engineering Entrance Examination (BEEE). For B.Tech (Lateral), candidates should hold a Diploma with at least 50% marks from an institution recognized by the Central/State Government, or a B.Sc with Mathematics or equivalent.

BEEE Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian residents and hold a qualifying degree from an Indian institution. M.Tech Admission: Candidates should have a B.E/B. Tech in the relevant field or its equivalent from an institution recognized by AICTE/UGC, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
MBA and MCA Admission: For the MBA program, candidates should have a Graduation degree in any field with at least 60% marks or its equivalent from a recognized institution. For the MCA program, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Mathematics or Statistics is required. For the MCA (Lateral) program, eligibility requires a B.Sc in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics.
