Admission 2024-25
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants seeking admission to the B.Tech program should have completed the Intermediate (10+2) examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, or any other examination recognized as equivalent, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects.
Admission Process for B.Tech
Admissions to the institute, along with other engineering colleges in the state, are facilitated through a common entrance test (EAPCET) conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
B.Tech Admission Procedure
- 70% of the seats are filled through the Convener, based on the merit in the EAPCET (A-Category).
- 30% of the seats are reserved for NRI/Management candidates (B-Category).
- Diploma holders are also eligible for admission into the second year of the B.Tech program, accounting for 10% of the total intake. Their admission is based on merit in the ECET, under the lateral entry scheme.
Infrastructure
Bheema Institute Of Technology And Science, Kurnool has a large and well-maintained campus and offers a tranquil learning environment. The buildings are modern and equipped with the latest technology from the Bheema Institute Of Technology And Science, Kurnool, which facilitates teaching and teacher development. The library is excellent too, with a huge range of books, online resources, and knowledgeable librarians.
Library
The library stands as a pivotal hub of knowledge, occupying a generous 544 square meters and housing around 20,000 volumes spanning 2,000 titles. It includes 42 international journals and 50 national journals, offering students ample opportunities for academic growth. Additionally, the library provides three English and four Telugu daily newspapers to keep students informed about current events.
Hostel
Located within the campus, the college offers a girls' hostel positioned behind the main building, surrounded by verdant greenery. This three-story facility offers spacious and well-ventilated rooms. The ground floor houses a modern mess, study room, visitors' area, and Netcafe. A large dining hall, equipped with a sizable LCD and DTH connection, can accommodate a significant number of students. The hostel provides purified mineral water from an on-site treatment plant. Security is ensured 24/7 by a dedicated hostel warden, and two female faculty members residing in the hostel supervise study hours for the students.
Canteen
Situated centrally on the campus, the canteen is spacious, well-maintained, and operates under hygienic conditions to cater to the needs of students and staff. Open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM on all working days, the canteen offers a variety of affordable food options, providing convenient and economical choices for meals.
Sports and Game
Prioritizing the physical well-being of students, the college organizes conditioning camps and sports events on campus, encouraging participation in external competitions. Sports and games are integrated into the regular curriculum to motivate active engagement. Our students have excelled in various inter and intra-university tournaments, reflecting the institution's dedication to holistic development. Beyond academics, Brindavan Institute of Technology & Science fosters student participation and excellence in recreational and entertainment activities. Co-curricular events serve as a valuable platform for the development of confidence, camaraderie, social responsibility, and a spirit of sharing and caring. In a short time, BITS students have achieved recognition, winning prizes in various state competitions. Anticipated campus events include sports meets, inter-college competitions, personality development sessions, seminars, and panel discussions. Students particularly look forward to annual events like Kousalotsav and Srujana.
Placement
Every educational institution primarily focuses on academic advancement and progress. However, the employability of students is another crucial aspect that demands significant attention. In light of this, we have established a Training and Placement (T&P) cell as an integral part of our institute.
The T&P cell acts as a gateway not only for training but also for the smooth placement of our budding engineers. It plays a pivotal role in fostering a lasting relationship based on mutual trust and understanding between the industry and the T&P segment. We emphasize academic excellence and strive to enhance students' skills by incorporating a professional approach.
Objectives
- To help students identify their academic and career interests through counseling and personal discussions.
- To organize industry guest lectures, workshops, training programs, and pre-placement activities to enhance students' skill set.
- To conduct technical, aptitude, and general knowledge tests, as well as resume writing and mock interviews, for the professional development of students.
- To assist students in securing placements in reputed organizations through on-campus/off-campus placement drives.
Placement Programmed
- The T&P cell invites potential companies/organizations/industries between June (tentative) and August (tentative) of each academic year to participate in the campus recruitment process. Interested organizations can also contact the institute's Chief T&P Officer for their hiring needs.
- Details of final-year students will be shared with the concerned company/organization, along with a mutually convenient date for campus interviews.
- The company/organization can confirm the date or discuss an alternative date with the Coordinator-Training and Placement.
- Upon confirmation, a pre-placement talk (PPT) will be arranged. The company will conduct tests and/or group discussions to shortlist interested students. If necessary, telephonic or video conferencing interviews can be arranged.
- The organization will interview the shortlisted candidates for final selection and will announce the results as soon as possible, preferably on the same day, once the selection process is completed.
- Companies that announce results immediately after interviews will be given preference by the institute and the students for early campus interview dates in the following academic year.
Interview and Selection
Being invited for an interview indicates that, on paper, you are the suitable candidate for the vacant position. Approximately 80% of candidates are rejected at the application stage, so you are more than three-quarters of the way towards getting the job!
In larger organizations, interviewers are often HR professionals or experienced interviewers, so expect a structured interview to extract the best from you. In smaller firms, you may be interviewed by a partner who might not be a trained interviewer. If faced with a 'challenging' interviewer, utilize the questions as an opportunity to highlight your strengths.
There are various interview/questioning techniques:
- The straightforward chronological interview, focusing on your CV/Application form.
- Criterion-referenced interviews, where you need to provide examples of how you meet their criteria, like teamwork or leadership.
- Off-the-wall questions to assess your quick thinking and creativity.
- The pressurized interview to test your reaction under extreme conditions. Stay calm and maintain your composure.
