Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology runs under the auspices of Sri Channabasaveshwara Swamy Rural Education Society (CRED Society). It is a private institute affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and recognised by the Government of Karnataka. CIT Tumkur is ISO 9001:2015 Certified and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The campus is spread over an area of 60 acres of land. It is accredited by NAAC with B+ Grade.

Hostel

Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Tumkur has a boy's hostel. The CIT Tumkur Boys hostel is located on campus.  The boys' hostel is managed by a warden who is assisted by a deputy warden who lives on the hostel premises. The hostel rooms are all well-furnished, and healthy food is served. Various facilities are available in the CIT Tumkur boys’ hostel such as healthy and hygienic food, pure drinking water, a TV and reading room, vehicle parking and round-the-clock security enabled with CCTV.

Auditorium 

The college has a well-furnished auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 students. It is utilized for guest lectures, seminars and other cultural events.

Hostels

The college has a separate hostel for boys and girls. The boys' hostel is located on campus while the girl's hostel is located off campus. Hostels are looked after by the wardens. Hostels have no-ragging environments.

Medical/Hospital

Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Tumkur has a health care centre. It is managed by a medical officer supported by one paramedical and other staff. It has two beds for patients. The health care centre serves as a referral centre for the whole campus.

CIT has well-established computer centres that house over 950 computer systems that are linked through LAN. A leased connection with a speed of 100 Mbps is available round the clock. CIT is a Wi-Fi enabled campus. A dedicated internet browsing lab with high-end computers is provided 24x7 for the benefit of students. The IT facilities available on the campus are a 24×7  Wi-Fi facility, on-premises cloud set-up, ample LCD projectors, video conferencing unit.

Cafeteria

Classrooms

Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology has spacious and well-equipped classrooms. Each classroom is well-lit and has seating for more than 80 students. The seating arrangement allows students to have uninterrupted views of the teachers and instructional tools from all sides. CIT has integrated technology into most of the classrooms to improve the presentation of course material. Many of the classrooms have an LCD projector installed on the ceiling.
