Daita Madhusudana Sastry Sri Venkateswara Hindu College of Engineering Machilipatnam is one of the oldest self-funded institutions in the state of Andhra Pradesh to provide high-quality technical education in the discipline of engineering. The name of the college appears to be "Sri Venkateswara Hindu College of Engineering" from 1980  to 2006. After the sad passing of  Founder President Sri Daita Madhusudana Sastry guru in  2004, a proper decision was made taken by the members of the Company and the members of the board of directors to change the name of the college of"Sri Venkateswara Hindu College of Engineering" and "D M S S V H College of Engineering" Dans onore del fondatore.

Library stands in a sprawling 1,400 Sq. Mts. building is being constructed to accommodate future expansion plans to be undertaken over the next 25 years. The current building, as it stands, exceeds AICTE's surface area requirements by three times. Thanks to the recognition by the administration of the fundamental role that libraries play in the process of teaching and learning. Therefore, the administration is committed to maintaining a well-funded library to ensure that students have access to state-of-the-art material without incurring a financial burden. Currently, the library houses almost 60,000 volumes and provides access to some of the most reputed national and international journals and conference proceedings, both print and online, and can easily accommodate over 150 students at a time.
