Doranda College, Ranchi was established in 1962 by a local philanthropist to offer holistic education in order to equip its graduates for a fast-diversifying world. Doranda College which turned into transformed right into a constituent unit of Ranchi University in April 1977 is dedicated to constructing completely unique surroundings to facilitate the major faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational Courses of higher education and also facilitate the relationship between higher education and society.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

The college library has about forty-eight thousand books and journals. The members of the college community are exhorted to make the best use of the library subject to some conditions. The Identity Card of the College should be produced along with a requisition slip with the request for a book. The books may be kept for a period of two weeks. A fine of 50 paise will be charged per day for late return of books. Degree, as well as Honors students, are allowed to borrow two books at a time. Honors students may also get books from their respective departments.

Sports:

Facilities are available in the college for games in volleyball, basketball, hockey, cricket, football, badminton, and indoor games. Students should not take newspapers, or magazines away from their respective places. A proper environment must be maintained in the common room while playing indoor games and watching TV.

Audio-Visual Education:

The college provides audiovisual faculties to the teachers as well as to various societies for their invitees. Mostly these facilities will be utilized for Vocational Courses and Retail Management.

Wi-Fi Internet Facility:

Facilities are available in the college for games in volleyball, basketball, hockey, cricket, football, badminton, and indoor games.

Parking:

The bicycles and two-wheelers are to be parked in the allotted parking place only. Students are requested to lock properly their vehicles and the college does not take any responsibility if the vehicle is stolen. Students are not allowed to bring cars, vans, jeeps, and other four-wheelers to the college campus. The parking rules of the college have to be followed strictly. There is a required fee to be paid for parking.
