The institution was founded in 1960. Ranchi University carries rich heritage and lively history. The mission of the institute can be summarized by its slogan "May our knowledge become brilliant". At present, the university is home to 14 colleges that are constituents and 55 affiliated colleges. The colleges are located in the fields of Engineering and Law, Nursing Medical Education, Law and Psychiatry. Admission
