Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital has emerged as an excellent center in Medical Education, Training & Research activities at the National level, and Health Care Services, especially for downtrodden people at their doorsteps. The extreme shortage of medical facilities promoted Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation to establish a Medical College at Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar in 2004. Under the able guidance and mature insight of the founder Late. Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil (Padmabhushan Awardee), the institute has acquired remarkable achievements both in terms of academic & health services at the grassroots level. The College offers undergraduate courses in Medicine ( MBBS ) with an intake of 200 students per year and Postgraduate Courses in 10 Disciplines. The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India at present National Medical Commission, New Delhi in 2009 and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The Medical complex is situated in an area of 33 acres in the beautiful scenario of Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar.

Hostel

Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital Hostel All the students who are staying in the hostel are required to follow the following rules and

regulations of the hostel

1. Living in a hostel pre-supposes a high degree of integrity and consciousness as a member

of the community.

2. No student can claim admission as a right. All rights of admission to the hostel are reserved

with management.

3. Rooms will be allotted by the Rector according to the plan prepared by the Dean at the

beginning of the session.

4. Room allotment will be done on a merit basis only.

5. Allotment of hostel seats will be for ONE academic year only. In case the student wants to

leave the hostel in the middle of the academic year, he/ she shall pay the hostel charges

for the full academic year.

6. Fee revision of the hostel will be done after each academic year with a permissible rise.

7. Admission shall be sought afresh in every academic session. A student may be refused

admission without conveying any reason.

8. Institute reserves the right to move any hostel student from one hostel/floor/room to

another if the need arises with seven days prior notice.

9. Regarding hostel admission and discipline no recommendation or phone call will be

entertained.

10. After 9:30 PM no student is permitted to go out of the hostel.

Museums of Forensic Medicine

Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital  Museums are important educational resources considered supplemental approaches to providing medical education. Apart from the mandatory requirements of regulatory authority, the Institution has developed some special museums to attract students to a greater extent and facilitate their independent learning. This will help in creating interest among students in the course and help in better comprehension and knowledge enrichment. Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital Admission MBBS Course Duration: 4 ½ years + 1-year Compulsory Rotatory Internship.

Admission Procedure: Centralized admission procedure as directed by Maharashtra State CET Cell, Mumbai.

The total intake is 150, out of which 85% of seats are merit seats and the remaining 15% are N.R.I./ P.I.O. /Foreign seats.

The admission procedure is as per guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi Admission Regulating Authority, Mumbai, Directorate, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai Maharashtra State CET Cell, Mumbai, and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the direction of the Medical Council of India.

MD/ MS (Post Graduate Course)

Course Duration: - 3 years.

Admission Procedure: Centralized admission procedure as directed by Maharashtra State CET Cell, Mumbai.

The total Subject-wise intake is 29, out of which 50% seats are merit seats, the remaining 35% for Institute Quota, and 15% for N.R.I./P.I.O./Foreign seats.

The admission procedure is as per guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi Admission Regulating Authority, Mumbai, Directorate, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai Maharashtra State CET Cell, Mumbai, and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
