Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar or IIT Gandhinagar is an II-generation IIT which was founded in the year 2008 to be one of 8 new IITs. The institute is located within Gandhinagar, IITGN is the only institute in Gujarat to be included among the top 1000 universities of the world. IIT Gandhinagar has been ranked 33 in the overall classification according to the NIRF in 2021. Courses available

IIT Gandhinagar offers a variety of degree and non-degree programs at both levels of UG and at PG. On the UG level the institute provides the 4-year BTech program with 6 specialisations like B.Tech in Computer Science & Tech., Civil Engg etc. Students who have an acceptable JEE Advanced score can apply to admission to the BTech program. While at level PG stage, IIT Gandhinagar offers two-year MTech MSc, MA and one-year PGDIIT programs.

The Institute dispensary also houses basic equipment for physiotherapy and an assistant who is trained. The costs for hospitalization of all students are covered by an insurance policy for medical expenses. Male nurses with formal training are available 24/7 to offer emergency first-aid services and routine medical care. They also assist with maintaining medical equipment and keeping medical documents. Medical kits for minor injuries can be found on Sports fields, gymnasiums and with security guards in each hostel.

Hostel Facilities:

IIT Gandhinagar is home to eight air-conditioned, centrally air-conditioned hostels. IIT Gandhinagar believes in ownership of the campus by students. All hostels are run by students, through the maintenance committee of hostels. The hostels are equipped with a range of amenities and conveniences like food and convenience stores as well as a mini library complete with an area for reading and laundry facilities, a students lounge with snooker tables, a music area, and an art space in common rooms and tennis courts.

Campus Life:

Both indoor, as well as outdoor sports, are among my favourite activities. A variety of activities, including plantation programmes blood donation camp workshop, NSS, NCC, student union elections and annual functions and games are organised by the institute. These events help us to grow our talents and personalities.

Library:

The Library located at IIT Gandhinagar is the window to the world of the latest information in the fields of sciences, engineering technology, humanities and social sciences. It is an integral part of the academic and research activities on campus Library is a resource for information to aid in research, teaching, and outreach efforts of the Institute through the development of state-of-the-art facilities and providing innovative services. In keeping the users at the heart of all its work, Library has been actively involved in developing and delivering needs-based information services.

Admission procedure:

IIT Gandhinagar admissions are based on entrance examinations. The institute allows the admission process to their BTech program by way of JEE Advanced exam results for the MTech program. GATE scores will be accepted in addition to this. IIT Gandhinagar offers admission to the MA, M.Sc, PhD, PGDIIT, and non-degree programs.

Scholarship:

The school offered numerous scholarships to economically struggling students as well as academically gifted students. Some I can remember were scholarships for academic Excellence and the scholarships awarded to students who demonstrate Excellence at Sports and Games, plus many other Financial aid options. There were a few requirements to get the scholarship and proof was needed.
