The Indian Statistical Institute's main campus in Kolkata sprawls across a vast 30-acre estate situated on the Barrackpore Trunk Road (B.T. Road) within the Baranagore suburb of Greater Kolkata. This expansive campus is divided into two nearly equal parts: the office complex and the residential complex, with a public road running between them. Known as Girish Chand Ghosh Street, this road links B.T. Road with Gopal Lal Tagore Road, which borders the western perimeter of the main campus. The office complex is designated with door numbers 202, 203, and 204, while the residential complex is identified as 205 and 206. There exists no direct passage between the two sections of the campus; individuals must exit onto B.T. Road and re-enter to traverse between the residential and office areas. Additionally, a narrow public road separates 202 and 203 B.T. Road, albeit these premises are directly connected.
