Indian Statistical Institute Placement

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Mumbai places great emphasis on providing career opportunities for its students. As part of this commitment, ISI boasts a specialized placement cell dedicated to bridging the gap between academic learning and the professional world. Serving as a central hub, the placement cell offers a wide range of services and resources to support students in their quest for rewarding employment opportunities.

Indian Statistical Institute Placement process

To initiate the placement process, companies are required to complete the Campus Recruitment Form (CRF), available on our website, and submit it via email. The CRF should include details of the job role(s) and exact salary information, with preference given to the lower limit if a salary range is provided.

Companies will be invited for placements in different slots, with slot allocation based on salary considerations and student preferences. Each placement slot will span several days, during which multiple companies may conduct interviews with the available pool of students. Tests and interviews will typically be scheduled outside of regular class hours or on weekends.

Only students from the available pool will be allowed to proceed with the interview process if shortlisted by the company. Offers must be declared by the end of the allocated slot, and companies are required to provide a list of waitlisted candidates in case of offer is declined.

Salary details must be re-confirmed at the time of offering, ensuring they meet or exceed the initially committed amount. If a student receives multiple job offers within a slot, they must select one and are prohibited from participating in subsequent interviews.

Any special conditions, such as fixed-time bonds, must be explicitly stated in the Campus Recruitment Form. Additionally, students who have accepted an offer through the placement committee are only permitted to interview with companies offering at least 1.3 times the highest-paid offer, based on fixed pay and guaranteed allowances.

Indian Statistical Institute Summer internships

Summer internships offer invaluable opportunities for students at ISI to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Companies interested in offering internships to ISI students can engage in the recruitment process through campus visits or telephonic interviews. To schedule these interactions, companies can coordinate with student representatives and the placement convener to finalize mutually convenient dates. It is advisable to avoid weekdays for campus visits to minimize disruptions to students' classes. Typically, first-year students across various courses are available for internships during their summer break, which typically spans from the completion of their second-semester examinations (around May 10th) until the commencement of their third semester. This period provides an ideal window for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences and gain valuable insights into their chosen fields.
