The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) is a publicly funded, non-profit, autonomous institution committed to conducting policy research, advocacy, capacity-building, and outreach activities aimed at promoting the industrial transformation of India.
Established on October 7, 1986, under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860, Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi became one of the institutions supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), a body under the Government of India, through grants-in-aid. In 1988, ISID, New Delhi began its operations and has been dedicated to advancing knowledge and expertise in the field of industrial development.
In 2006, ISID moved to its own purpose-built campus located in the Vasant Kunj Institutional Area in South Delhi. This new campus provides a conducive environment for research, learning, and collaboration. The establishment and growth of ISID are attributed to the visionary leadership of its founder, the late Prof. S.K. Goyal.
The college is approved by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and accredited by the University of Delhi.

ISID Convention Centre comprises a number of well-equipped conference halls, an auditorium, a multipurpose convention hall, a guest house, and a cafeteria. With a seating capacity for nearly 200 participants, the ISID Auditorium is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The facilities are available in the auditorium such as online streaming and recording, wireless controls, and state-of-the-art acoustic, projection, and lighting systems.
Accommodation:
The ISID Guest House comprises 28 fully air-conditioned guest rooms equipped with internet connectivity, cable TV, and a refrigerator. The guest house is primarily used by the official guests, staff, and participants of various academic activities undertaken by ISID and selectively by other members of the academic community.
