Jagat Narain Lal College (A part within Patliputra University, Patna, Bihar) was founded in 1960. The land was given to the college by late Jagat Narain Lal who was a well-known freedom fighter and Minister in the Cabinet of Bihar and was humblely established in the 1950s. The college is located just 1 km south to Danapur Railway Station. Danapur Railway Station and 5 kilometers from the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport. The college was founded in order to spread the benefits of education to the less fortunate in the semi-urban backward area in which the majority of residents were of agricultural origin. It is worth noting that this was the only college that provided the education that was up to the graduation level in this semi-urban zone.
