Jagat Narain Lal College (A constituent unit of Patliputra University, Patna, Bihar) was established in the year 1960. The land was then donated by Late Jagat Narain Lal, who was a well known freedom fighter and a Cabinet minister of Bihar in was humbly started in the year1950s. The college is situated 1 Km South of the Danapur Railway Station and 5 Km to the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport. This college was established with the motive of spreading the light of education among the weaker section of this backward semi-urban area, where most of the residents had agricultural background. It should be noted that, this was the only college imparting education up to graduation level in this semi-urban area.

It is worth noting that this was the only college that provided the education that was up to the graduation level in this semi-urban zone.
