The Government of Maharashtra established the Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth on the 18th May 1972 to impart education, conduct research on location specific problems and disseminate the improved crop production technologies amongst the farming community. The university was renamed as Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli on 12th February 2001.
In 1972, the Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth was established. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has approved the College. It is affiliated with an agricultural university. On 12 February 2001, it was renamed Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Krishi Vidyapeeth in Dapoli. The college's vision is to provide all-inclusive, natural, and consistent economic, physical and natural food security and employment security through breeding, appraisal and refinement of applicable technologies. The College of the Need of the Konkan Country is concerned with Education, analysis, and cultivation education. The college is committed to preparing leaders in education for national and international recognition. The Campus has first-class infrastructure.
