The newly set up Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya has officially been based on 10th June 2014. Facilities and Infrastructure

As the University in its present campus has no sufficient area for arranging sports and games, permission from the Nagaon District Sports Association has been obtained to apply to the Indoor Stadium and the famous Nurul Amin Stadium of Nagaon, as and when required. Each year ‘Varsity Week’ is being organized in complete cooperation of the teachers, officers, employees, and college students of the University. Different game events & sports activities, literary activities, and cultural gadgets are organized in certain phases of Varsity Week. A Friendly Cricket Match of the Students vs Teachers-Officers & Employees of the University is played on an inaugural day and a Cultural Evening is organized on the concluding day of every Varsity Week. 

Auditorium 

A well-prepared state-of-the-art auditorium having a capacity of approximately three hundred persons has been recently constructed. National Level Seminar, State Level Debating Competition, and cultural program sponsored through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) have already been prepared in the Auditorium. 

Computer lab 

The University has well designed Computer Laboratory having the capacity for 25 students at a time has been established. The offices and departments have been networked.

Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva (1449-1568) was a multi-dimensional genius, who transformed and modernized Assamese society with his egalitarian ideology. He worked in diverse fields like religion, literature, music, dance, drama, architecture, social reconstruction, etc. He translated most part of the Bhagavata Mahapurana into Assamese language and was the first ever playwright in any Indian language other than Sanskrit.
