MET stands for Mala Educational Trust which was founded in 2001. The Trust is made up of eminent figures including educators, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and businessmen from the Thrissur district of Kerala. The MET'S group of institutions includes a wide range of professional courses offered by MET'S School of Engineering and MET College of Advanced Studies and MET Polytechnic.  These three professional institutions aim to promote the technical education of the rural people in and around Mala and particularly throughout the state of Kerala. 

MET'S School of Engineering is a self-funded Christian minority professional engineering school in Thrissur established in 2002 by the Mala Educational Trust (MET). It is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi and is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam University of Technology (APJAKTU). The University has been awarded the ISO 9001-2008 Certificate issued by NQA (UK) which confirms very high standards of infrastructure including laboratories and libraries, excellent teachers, academic brilliance, training, and internships.  The entire campus of the college was equipped with WLAN.
