B.Tech Admission 2024

NITK Surathkal offers a B.Tech program in 9 specialisations for 4 years. It is a regular-mode program and the institute is the first year. 


NITK Surathkal B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Students are required to pass their 10+2 examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks.
Students can also apply directly under DASA if they have completed their last qualifying exam board.
There is a relaxation of 10% in the required qualifying marks in the 12th for SC/ST students.

NITK Surathkal B.Tech Selection Criteria

Students must have a valid score in the JEE MAINS examination 
The seat allotment will be done followed by the JoSAA counselling.

MCA Admissions 2024

NITK Surathkal offers a full-time MCA program for 3 years. 

NITK Surathkal MCA Eligibility Criteria

The students must have passed a bachelor’s degree with a 60% or 6.5 CGPA in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Maths in any of the subjects in one semester or year.
Students must have appeared for the NIMCET entrance exam. 

NITK Surathkal MCA Selection Criteria

The candidates are selected based on the rank they secure in the NIMCET exam.
Seats will be allotted based on NIMCET rank.

M.Tech Admission 2024

NITK Surathkal offers an M.Tech program for 2 years. The specialization in this course is Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Research, Information Technology, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Data and Computational Sciences, and Mechanical Engineering.

NITK Surathkal M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The students must complete their bachelor's in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
Candidates must have a GATE score for the past 3 years.
SC/ ST students must secure 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA in their bachelor’s degree.

NITK Surathkal M.Tech Selection Criteria

Candidates must appear for the GATE entrance examination.
The seat allotment will be done after the CCMT counseling. 

MBA Admission 2024

NITK Surathkal offers candidates a full-time 2-year MBA program. 


NITK Surathkal MBA Eligibility Criteria

Students must have passed their bachelor's with at least 50% marks or a 5.5 CGPA from any recognized university.
Candidates have to appear for CAT/ MAT/ XAT to meet the eligibility criteria of NITK Surathkal.

NITK Surathkal MBA Selection Criteria

Students have to secure a valid score in any of the following exams: CAT/ XAT/ MAT.
Candidates will also be required to sit for a written test and group discussion
Performance in the interview will also be evaluated for selection in this program.

NITK Surathkal M.Sc Admission 2024

NITK Surathkal offers candidates for a 2-year M.Sc program specializing in 2 subjects, i.e, Physics and Chemistry. 

NITK Surathkal M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

Students must hold a bachelor’s degree in B.Sc from any recognized university.

NITK Surathkal M.Sc Selection Criteria

Students must have scored a valid rank in IIT JAM for selection in this program.
Seats will be allotted to the candidate after the CCMN Counselling process. 

PhD Admission 2024

Postgraduate and doctoral Ph.D. students are also involved as teaching assistants for undergraduate courses. Research in the institute is mainly sponsored by central and state government agencies with grants for the academic year.

NITK Surathkal PhD Eligibility Criteria

M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10-point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). At least 8.0 (on a 10-point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks). For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on a 10-point scale).
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10-point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks).

NITK Surathkal PhD Selection Criteria

Admission will be based on the entrance examination and interview conducted by NIT. 
CSIR or CBSE NET/JRF qualified candidates will be exempted from the entrance examination

How to Apply for B.Tech.?

Eligible candidates seeking admission to the B. Tech. programs offered by NITK need to register online on the JEE Mains website.
After the declaration of the JEE Main result, candidates have to appear for JoSAA Counselling.
During the counseling, applicants have to choose the desired course and institute and fill in the other requisite details.
The candidate is allowed to choose preferences before locking the choices, which marks the completion of the registration process.
Allotment status is displayed shortly after on the official website.
Candidates, if satisfied with the allotment have to report at the allotted NIT (NITK Surathkal) along with their documents.
At the institute, students have to undergo document verification.
Upon successful verification, they have to pay the fee toward seat confirmation.

How to Apply for M.Tech?

Candidates need to register on the official website of GATE.
Upon successful registration, they have to fill out the application form with all the correct details and upload scanned images in the prescribed format.
Applicants also have to select the exam center.
Once the form is filled they have to make payment for Females/SC/ST/OBC candidates) through electronic payment mode.
After the GATE exam is over, applicants have to attend the CCMT Counselling.
At the time of counseling, candidates need to register and fill in the choice of the institute.
Based on the GATE rank and choices filled, seat allotment will be done.
If satisfied with the seats then candidates need to report at the allotted institute to accept the seat by paying fees and for document verification.

How to Apply for MCA?

To apply for the MCA course, applicants have to visit the NIMCET website and register themselves.
After registration, candidates have to fill in all the required details in the form.
When the form is filled, they need oi submit it along with the requisite fee.
Further, the NIMCET-qualified candidates have to appear for NIMCET Counselling. 
During the counseling, they have to register themselves and fill in the choice of institution.
Applicants will be allotted a seat based on their merit and choice filled.
Such candidates have to report at the designated center for document verification and payment of a fee for confirming the allotted seat.

How to Apply for M.Sc.

For M.Sc. applicants need to fill out the application form for IIT JAM.
Post exam the qualified candidates have to appear for CCMN Counselling where they have to register online, fill in the choice of program & institute, and finally lock their choices.
Candidates will be allocated seats depending on their rank and choices.
Students need to download the Provisional Admission Letter after the allotment.
Lastly, students have to report at the allotted institute along with their documents and Provisional Admission Letter to pay the required amount of fees.
How to Apply for M.Tech (Research/Sponsored) and Ph.D.?
Candidates applying for M.Tech (research/Sponsored) and Ph.D. programs have to register online on the institute’s official portal.
They have to fill out the online application with the necessary details.
After filling, candidates have to pay the application fee for SC/ST) through SBI e-Collect.

Documents Required:

The following documents are to be submitted (by post along with the application form)/produced at the time of counseling/interview:

  1. Original marks card of all Semesters/years of Engineering/Degree
  2. Date of Birth Certificate in Original (SSLC/X Std.)
  3. Course Completion Certificate from college (if qualifying degree exam results are awaiting)
  4. Caste Certificate if belonging to SC/ST (original)
  5. Caste certificate as per prescribed format for OBC candidates (if applicable) from the Competent Authority issued after 31st March.
  6. GATE Score Card in original (For M. Tech)
  7. Sponsorship Certificate, if applicable
  8. Pass certificate for A.M.I.E. candidates (M Tech)
  9. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) certificate, if applicable
  10. Medical Certificate (general fitness).
  11. Relieving Certificate in the Case of Sponsored Candidates
  12. OBC Certificate (if applicable) from the competent authority issued after March 31.
  13. Transfer Certificate
  14. Conduct Certificate
  15. Sponsorship Certificate (if sponsored)
  16. Migration Certificate
