NIFT Shillong began its humble beginnings in June 2008 with its transit campus at the former Northeast Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (former NEIGRIHMS campus).  in the country, and four new centers opened in 2008 as part of this project. Shlong is one of them. NIFT now has a network of eighteen professionally managed national centers in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Daman, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Panchkula, Patna, Raebareli, and Shillong Srinagar.

NIFT Shillong Scholarship

The institute has a scheme called “SARTHAK’ under which it offers financial assistance to the needy students based on their family income.
