NIE Institute of Technology, more fondly known as NIEIT is situated in the world-famous heritage city of Mysuru. It is around 12 Km from the city railway station. NIEIT was established in 2008 by the NIE foundation (R) to offer degrees in Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Science and Engineering. Courses Offered

NIE Institute of Technology courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Computer Science Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Electronics & Communication Engineering and many more. Facilities and Infrastructure

NIEIT has a sprawling 25 acres of Land Area amidst prominent industries such as BEML, Infosys etc. A total of 15,282 sqm of built-up area is available for instructional and administrative purposes. In addition, NIEIT has 26,600 sqm of carpet area for amenities and other utilities. An added attraction is that the institution has a large playground for outdoor sports such as Cricket, Football, Basket Ball and Athletic Track. Two well-equipped Hostels with all modern amenities have been constructed to house around 300 students. NIEIT has well-qualified, experienced & dedicated faculty members, which include 12 PhD holders, 28 faculty are pursuing a PhD, and 25 faculty are master's degree holders who are ably supported by experienced technical staff. Currently, there are around 1000 students enrolled.

Residential Accommodations

For the young men and women who reside at NIEIT hostels, it’s the camaraderie, the facilities, and the support system that makes the hostels a place to call home.

The Institute has constructed two brand new hostels – one for boys and another one for girls with all modern amenities. Both the hostels are located within the campus.
1. The boys’ hostel building is G+4 floors, with 49 triple accommodations, 2 double accommodations and 4 guest rooms.
2. The girls’ hostel building is G+4 floors, with 40 triple accommodations, 2 double accommodations and 4 guest rooms.
3. All the rooms have attached bathroom and toilet facilities.
4. The hostel buildings have 24×7 hot water facilities.
5. The hostel buildings are Wi-Fi-enabled with TV rooms and a sports room.

Library

NIEIT has always believed in balancing tradition and modernity, staying rooted yet embracing the advantages of modern technology. Every aspect of the college and its infrastructure has been designed with this vision in mind – to be a world-class learning resource centre in the area of Engineering Education and Research. The Library facility has been developed and upgraded over the years to reflect this vision. Over 20865 books, seating capacity for 100 people, E-Learning Centre, reference and regional language books section, OPAC Search facility, subject books, journals, integrated databases, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals, reports, reference question papers, bound volumes, project reports – the NIEIT college library has a vast collection of resources at the student’s disposal. Students can also access external resources through DELNET and VTU Consortium to which the college has a membership.

Digital Library

A digital library is a managed collection of information, with associated services, where the information is stored in digital formats and accessible over a network. Central Library is a part of the institute-wide network. The library has 10 computers and other accessories adequate to cater to the needs of users & are meant for users to access OPAC, databases, e-books, e-journals and other e-resources. The Central Library has been Wi-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the Internet. Users are welcome to use their laptops in the library.

Cultural Club

NIEIT hosts cultural events throughout the year, for its own students as well as those from other colleges. The annual inter-collegiate fest ‘IGNIEIT’ is one of the most popular among students in and around Mysuru. The campus hosts a multitude of cultural events such as music fests, theatre workshops, quiz shows and more every year to encourage students to explore their talent in fields outside of academics.

Technical Student Clubs

At NIEIT, we encourage students to explore the field of engineering and technology beyond what they study as part of their academic courses. Technical extra-curricular activities such as quizzes, technical talks, workshops, and subject matter expert lectures are conducted regularly to instil the spirit of innovation within students. They are also provided with up-to-date equipment and infrastructure to encourage them to translate their innovative ideas into reality.

Sports Facilities

The Department of Physical Education Achieve and Organize Various Sports Games, NIEIT Provide an Environment for the Disciplined and Integrated Development of Sports, Both Staff as well as Students of NIEIT to Excel in Sports & Fitness Programs. It Educates and trains Students and staff for Physical Fitness, Health and quality of life through physical activity and a healthy Lifestyle. NIEIT has provided the necessary infrastructure to the Sports and Physical Education Department on par with any Physical Education Department of any University. The 25-Acre sprawling campus has the following facilities.

??? – YANTRA CLUB

“??? – Yantra” will be a recognized professional club of enthusiastic young minds passionate about robotics giving multi-disciplinary collaborative hands–on experience in designing, building and programming robots.

Objective

1. To explore robotic solutions to societal challenges

2. To foster interest in various aspects related to robotics.

3. To cater to the interests of hobbyists and expose them to the professional environment.

4. To support the participants in robotics-related competitions that are held at various forums.

Admission

The students should have written either CET by Govt. of Karnataka or COMEDK or any of the competitive exams for Entrance into Engineering Conducted by Govt. of India - like JEE Mains.

Scholarships

NIEIT Institute has a separate dedicated scholarship section. The institute encourages and takes a proactive interest to see that all students are eligible for scholarship applications for the same. This is not only restricted to GoK scholarships for SC, ST & OBC students, but the college also enables them to apply for private scholarships through NGOs like railway, KSRTC workmen’s union and community-oriented scholarships.

NIE and NIEIT are promoted by the same management and being in the education field for over 70 years.
