Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College established in 1972, is one of the oldest general degree college in Ranchi, Jharkhand state of India. It provides undergraduate education in arts, commerce and sciences. It is affiliated to Ranchi University.
Established in 1972, RAM LAKHAN SINGH YADAV COLLEGE is a constituent unit of Ranchi University. The name of the college is in honor of the then Honorable Minister of Education, Late Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav of undivided Bihar, whose vision was to educate an underprivileged group of society by opening Schools & Colleges in every district of the State. The college is a part of the great vision of this august personality.

Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College, Ranchi courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) The college has a rich library with a seating capacity of 25 students. The library is equipped with more than 12,000 books, daily newspapers, and a few periodicals and journals. The library is in the process of digitization, automation and air-conditioning.

The college canteen offers light refreshments at a reasonable cost to students and faculty members.
Computer Lab:
A fully-functional computer lab is available on the campus for students and faculty members.
Help Desk:
The Help Desk provides necessary information and guidance to the students at the time of admission, examination, and whenever it is needed.
SPORTS & CULTURE:
The students of the R. L. S. Y. College have participated in and won prizes at various district-level, state-level, and national-level sports programs and competitions. Jharkhand has been a leader in producing talented sportswomen and sportsmen, and the college is committed to honing and nurturing the talents of the students.
RLSY provides scholarships and fees reduction to financially backward students but the scholarship is actually provided by the govt. and the education sector, not the college or the university. Special scholarships are given to students depending upon the caste category of the students.
The minimum eligibility criteria for undergraduate programs is to complete 10+2 with a minimum of 45% and for postgraduate programs is to complete graduation with a minimum of 45% marks.
With the vision of the College aims to train young minds to be a responsible, knowledgeable, and honest citizen of the country. To spread the rays of knowledge among each and every deprived student of society, the college endeavors to delineate and disseminate it in an innovative way.
The teaching, learning and other activities of the institution are designed in a manner such that students enrolled in the institution excel in their academic curriculum. The institution also places lot of emphasis on acquiring important cultural, moral and ethical values considered essential for growth and success in life.
