The B.Tech program admissions process is based on an assessment of the student's performance in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. For COMEDK, candidates have to appear from any of the mentioned above. The least academic provision needed to gain admission into a B. Tech program includes the 10+2 recognized at a university. The candidate may appear for the admission exam only if he or she has passed 10+2.
The application fee of COMEDK is Rs. 1200. Candidates can apply for some courses at the college by completing an application online on the college’s website and submitting the application physically to the college.
The candidates of Karnataka State belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories are allowed a deduction of 5 % marks on the 10+2 exam.
The M. Tech program offered at St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore offers three specialization courses. In the current MBA program, the college allows the students to take three concentration courses. Therefore, the scores obtained in the entrance examination as well as the qualifying examination define the admission. The candidate must have passed his/her undergraduate program from any recognized university and must turn up for the PGCET/KMAT for him/her to be considered for admission into the MBA program.
Postgraduate students require specialized entrance tests to gain admission to colleges and universities and the Karnataka government provides one such test in the form of PGCET. It is on a paper and pencil basis. The KMAT is necessary for admission in MBA and MCA courses in several colleges in Karnataka.
