St. Joseph's College is a prestigious educational institution spread over a 45-acre campus. This prestigious autonomous women's college is a minority Christian institution affiliated with the University of Calicut and administered by the Congregation of St. Joseph of the Holy Family.  Founded in 1964, the legacy of the institution has grown over the years as the demand for higher education for women from segregated backgrounds has increased. In recognition of the patronage of St. Joseph, the institution focuses on women's education in the rural suburb of Irinjalakuda. 

The institution has approximately 58 years of heritage and services built solely on the philosophy of delivering values-based education for the holistic advancement of women. The inspiring vision of St.  Mariam Teresa, founder of the Congregation of the Holy Family, guides the institution to achieve its goals in higher education with the support of pioneering administrators.  The insights of Padmabhushan's distinguished educator Father Gabriel and the late Fr. Sister Franco, the Founding Director, and the late Reverend Mother Josephine (First Director) helped this institution become the first in Kerala to be accredited in 2000.  Management's hard and continuous work has helped the institution earn an "A" in its postgraduate NAAC accreditation. The University was awarded Autonomous Status in March 2016 and Potential Excellence Status in April 2016 by UGC, demonstrating the institution's continued excellence in its mission to provide quality education and empower women.  The college is ranked 42nd in the 2017 NIRF rankings (and is below 150 from 2017 to this year). Joseph's College Street, Irinjalakuda is an all-woman's college affiliated with the University of Calicut and governed by St.Józefa Educational Society of the Holy Family Congregation. The Congregation was born in 1914 thanks to the visionary zeal of Blessed Maria Teresa, pioneer of the family apostolate, who was beatified on April 9, 2000. Foundation of the college in 1964 under the wise direction of the last few years. Mother Giuseppina, Superior General, was a memorable event in the history of the Congregation.

St Joseph’s College is Affiliated with the University of Calicut, Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution under the UGC The college was awarded Autonomy in March 2016. The college was granted the status of College with Potential for Excellence by UGC in April 2016.

Computer room: 

Joseph's College Street, Irinjalakuda opened its new computer lab on June 3, 2013. Drs. Annie Kuriakose, Esteemed Director of the College, cut the inaugural ribbon. On that occasion, the director said that the laboratory will not only make the students proficient and proficient in using computers but will also be of great help in improving the quality of teaching and learning for all professors, teachers, and students who use them will use their projects and other works.

St.  Joseph Library aims to support the academic activities of all students and faculty through the provision of services, education, and the timely provision of resources related to the general program in accordance with the mission, values, ??and goals of the university.  The library is the heart and repository of knowledge and information of an academic institution and is an essential and integral part of any institution. A large collection of books does not make a good library, but what matters is the organization and ways of disseminating knowledge. The St. George Józefa College Library has a reputation for being an excellent library that keeps up with the latest technological innovations. Located in a two-story building on the ground floor, spacious, well-lit, and airy. 

Joseph's Library was established in 1965 to help students and faculty fulfill their potential by providing a supportive and diverse learning and teaching environment. The library remains open during the lecture period and at special times during the examination periods. Educational programs are expanding to meet the need for additional medical professionals and entry requirements for practice. The library is responding to these changes by focusing on online resources and services. The library is the most important place in any educational institution. The college library covers an area of ?? 6,075 feet. It is spacious and well laid out with 510 seats.
