About Sri Venkateswara Degree and PG College

Sri Venkateswara Educational Society is a Non-Profit Organization established by Dr C. Somasekhara Reddy with the main objective of establishing educational institutions including professional colleges to provide quality education. The main promoter of the society, Dr C. Somasekhara Reddy, Chairman and Founder of S.V. Group of Institutions, is well experienced in this line of activity. Before the establishment of society, he worked in various capacities in educational institutions and got good expertise in running educational institutions. He is a retired Professor in Statistics with an overall teaching experience of 40 years and worked at SSBN National Degree College, Anantapur for 28 years.

Residential Accommodation

The College is maintaining only a Girls' Hostel for the safety and security purposes of the girls who are coming from various corners of the region. The College has its girl's hostel building beside the college campus. It provides a friendly atmosphere to the students and strict discipline is maintained. Full safety and security measures are taken in the hostel as Chairman's house is also located within the hostel building itself.

The Library

Sri Venkateswara Degree and PG College has its excellently equipped library housed in a second-storeyed building. It is adequately ventilated and furnished with a congenial academic ambience. The library has a collection of 10,000+ books, 100+ journals, 500+ dissertations, 4000 back volumes of journals and CDs and DVDs. Dewey Decimal Classification system is followed for the arrangement of books.

Computer Lab

The requirement of the day is computer Education. Our computer lab has 49 systems and provides knowledge and experience to our students all the time. The lab is open even after college hours providing opportunities for interested learners to practice and become masters in computer operations. Students utilise the Internet facility to download and prepare for their teaching practicals and use the Net for Powerpoint preparation.

Close on the heels of placement drives, the TPC evaluates the performance of our students. This objective-oriented based appraisal enables us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates and select the strategies for improvement.
